Suzi2u Posted August 7, 2018 #1051 Share Posted August 7, 2018 Has anyone cruised on Serenade of the Seas JS 1540? It's a connecting room and we are looking for info re: noise from next door and above.
motif Posted August 7, 2018 #1052 Share Posted August 7, 2018 (edited) Ship - Independence of the Seas (IOTS / Indy) Deck - 10 Stateroom # - 1706 Stateroom Category – Junior Suite (JS3) Starboard or Port Side - Central aft, just to the port side of the centre line Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Very quiet despite having the Windjammer directly above. No noise problems at all, unless you don't like the sound of the sea :D Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - Yes, to 1704, although we didn't use it Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Stunning views, some obstruction from the superstructure but not bad. Restricted views upward due to the overhang of the Windjammer, but for our fjords sailing it meant we could still sit on the balcony even if it was raining (unlike a lot of other aft balconies) Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Oversized balcony, wide and deep. 2 loungers, 2 chairs and 2 tables, and there was still masses of room. Was wind a problem? - Nope. If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - No soot at all Any specific problems with this cabin? - None. Any other comments? - Would definitely book this stateroom again. Ample space for a family of 4. Room big enough that we left the sofabed in 'bed' position for the duration and there was still plenty of room. The only downside was that the sofabed is quite small and would not really be comfortable for adults, or anyone over 5' 4" really. Edited August 7, 2018 by motif bizarre formatting! lady99 Posted August 7, 2018 #1053 Share Posted August 7, 2018 Ship - Oasis of the Seas Deck - 9 Stateroom # - 9581 Stateroom Category – G Starboard or Port Side - Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Yes - we were a little nervous since this is an outside view room overlooking Central Park and we were the floor directly above Central Park but it was surprisingly quiet and really lovely Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - no Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – no balcony but this outside view was perfect - it had a great window seat (which a small 4 year old slept in at night) and grew view of Central Park Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Was wind a problem? - If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - Any specific problems with this cabin? - Any other comments? - I would definitely get this cabin again!! It was wonderful and spacious for a family of four for our trip, especially with the window seat serving as a bed for our 4 year old and our 6 year old slept in the full size pull out sofa bed. (With comments on problems) – Yes very quiet Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - Yes, but didn't hear the people next door Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – excellent balcony, on the front of the hump so good view forward. Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - slightly larger due to hump Was wind a problem? - no If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - n/a Any specific problems with this cabin? - none Any other comments? - I would book this cabin again. Love the walk in wardrobe. It is close to the lifts for easy access to the rest of the ship. Only two decks away from Windjammer. Yet quiet. rcate527 Posted August 22, 2018 #1056 Share Posted August 22, 2018 Special thanks to Mysticks1 on the Celebrity Cruises forum for this idea. I would like to begin to assemble one for Royal Caribbean. To the moderators, I would appreciate if we could make this a "sticky" at the top of the page for all to see. Every week or two I will post a PDF for all the ships and cabin information compiled here. Please, refrain from posting cabin questions here so this can purely be an informative thread, especially for those that are first time cruisers or seasoned cruisers looking for a great cabin. The template is as follows: Ship -Oasis Deck - 10 Stateroom # - 10632 Stateroom Category – J4 Starboard or Port Side - Starboard Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Quiet no noise except normal kids running down the hallway from to time Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - yes--did not use Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. –good view--no obstructions Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - good size--lounger-2 chairs--table and more room Was wind a problem? -no If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? -n/a Any specific problems with this cabin? -none--AC was very cool--had to keep turning it warmer. lol Clean. Sofa showing a little wear. Any other comments? would stay in this cabin again--had nice walk in closet with tons of hangers--roomy--roomy shower/tub. SHIP TRAVELER Posted August 26, 2018 #1057 Share Posted August 26, 2018 Ship -Liberty of the Seas Deck - 7 Stateroom # - 7262 Stateroom Category – E Starboard or Port Side - Starboard Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Very Quiet. White space across the hall did not have a crew door near enough to be a problem. Only hall sound was final night luggage removal. Adjoining door was to 7264 occupied by our family. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - yes--be aware that there is a club chair instead of a love seat because of door access. We liked having the door opened but we were traveling together. Steward unlocked door and balcony divider on our request. Balcony View - good view not obstructed Balcony Size? Normal , nice table and 2 chairs Was wind a problem? -no If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? -n/a Any specific problems with this cabin? -none--AC was very cool- every thing worked - Any other comments? Decent location to elevator but could easily use stairs to get to decks 4 and 5. Had decent storage, plenty of drawers and shelves in closet. Luggage fit under bed. (With comments on problems) – Yes. Noise from the Boardwalk could be heard if the patio door was opened, but when closed, it was muffled in the distance. Not bothersome at all. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - Yes. Steward unlocked door and balcony divider on our request when family stayed in adjoining room. Balcony View - Good view of the Boardwalk. Directly above Johnny Rockets. Could see the Aqua Theater shows for the most part and a bit of the ocean at the back of the ship. Balcony Size? Normal, with a small table and two chairs. Was wind a problem? No If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? Several mornings when we went out on the balcony first thing, there was some small amounts of soot. Not enough to be annoying. Our stateroom attendant kept it clean for us. Any specific problems with this cabin? None. Any other comments? Not to far to get to the elevator. Convenient location to most decks. Lots of storage, luggage fit under bed. Great that you get a free soda package and meal at Johnny Rockets with the room.

Straughn Posted September 8, 2018 #1063 Share Posted September 8, 2018 Ship: Enchantment of the Seas Deck: 8 Stateroom: 8540 Stateroom category: Grand Suite Starboard side Quiet stateroom: Not so much. It is located under the covered area of the pool just outside of the Windjammer Cafe. We heard noise around 3-3:30 AM- furniture being dragged/moved across the deck above and similar sounds around 5:30-6:00 AM. A polite discussion with Guest Services resulted in much improved conditons for the remainder of the cruise. However, if the faint sound of rolling carts disturbs you, it occurs all day as they move the clean and dirty towel carts. Not a connecting cabin Balcony view was fine. The balcony does have the large overhang from Deck 9. We prefer that, but others may not like it. Wind was not an issue. Other comments: These are not specific to 8540, but to GS cabins on Enchantment. Lots of closet and drawer storage. Two sinks and plenty of storage in the bathroom. —Dual medicine cabinets, three drawers and under sink cabinets. Very convenient to the forward elevators/stairs and one floor below the Windjammer buffet.

denisey Posted September 18, 2018 #1066 Share Posted September 18, 2018 (edited) Ship- Explorer Deck - 12 Stateroom# - 1810 StateroomCategory – Spacious Panoramic Ocean View: 1L Starboard orPort Side – Starboard No Balcony QuietStateroom? –Quiet. There was a deck above with lounge chairs. On a sunnier itinerary, there might be chair noise during the day. We did hear people walking around Was staterooma connecting stateroom? - No Was wind aproblem? - No Any specificproblems with this cabin? – There was a large support pole right in front of the full length mirror. It wasn’t in the way in the room, but rather odd. Any othercomments? – This cabin is high up in the front of the ship. It has very large windows and was great for our Pacific Northwest cruise. We were able to see the scenery and watch whales from our cabin. It was also a very large cabin and had a good deal of storage space. Manxerin Posted September 29, 2018 #1067 Share Posted September 29, 2018 Ship Freedom Deck 10 Stateroom # 1264 Category Grand Suite Starboard or Port side Starboard Quiet stateroom Little noise from deck above. Compared to other occasions when we have been directly below Solarium and Windjammer this was quiet. Connecting room no, as the whirlpool is above balcony sides are thick metal partitions. Good privacy. Balcony view The whirlpool is above however we didn't think this blocked view unless into stargazing. The front of the balcony is blue tinted glass. Didn't bother us but may annoy some people. Size Great size, with two lovely comfortable loungers, two chairs, one large and one small table. Note whirlpool above blocks sun, positive for me no good for sun worshippers. Wind No Soot n/a Problems None Other comments This stateroom would not be for everyone. The whirlpool blocks the sun for most of the day. For me this is a real positive, my sunkissed look is red and freckles, however if you want to use your balcony for sunbathing this room is not for you. We would book this room again for the sole reason that the whirlpool gives shade. We were able to sit out enjoy the heat without getting burnt. BallofGoof Posted October 2, 2018 #1068 Share Posted October 2, 2018 Ship - Serenade of the Seas Deck - 9 Stateroom # - 9256 Stateroom Category – Oversized Balcony Starboard or Port Side - Port Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Very quiet. Only occasionally heard noise from the Windjammer. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. Oh. Oh wow. Cannot say enough about the view. Unbelieveably gorgeous. The sunrises and sunsets were phenomenal. Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Oversized. Had two lounge chairs, plus two regular chairs and small table. During sailaway, we had six adults on the balcony with plenty of room for all. Was wind a problem? - Not really. There were windier days, but I think any balcony would be getting that wind due to the weather. If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - No soot at all. Any specific problems with this cabin? - I can't think of a single thing wrong with this cabin. The only real minor annoyance was that the sliding glass door wouldn't stay shut unless you locked it. So if you were out on the balcony, the door would slide open and closed with the waves. Any other comments? - This was our second cruise and our first balcony, so I think it has ruined us for any other room. I only want this room moving forward!! lol

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. No obstructions, good views Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Large balcony, I was surprised there was no lounge chair out there, just two chairs and table but plenty of room. Was wind a problem? - Not any more than any other balcony we've had If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A Any specific problems with this cabin? - Everything was fine in the cabin - large, attractive cabin, however the noise from the Windjammer could be a deterrent if you're a light sleeper. Very Small for the RS, 2 chairs, 2 chaise lounges, small table. Entry from master bedroom and living area. Was wind a problem? - NO If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - NA Any specific problems with this cabin? - Noise above 3am every night Any other comments? - Would book again. Most forward cabin so no traffic or ding dong runners. For age of ship room was in excellent condition. Comparing to other Royal Suites. Enchantment closet layout better than Vision, but for overall closet design Jewel leads the way.
