Largin;

That list took some time and effort and we appreciate the effort.

However, I looked real close and I did not see the check marks by the ones that you popped a cork on during the last cruise.:D

Bob

On our 16 day b2b2b on the Coral ending yesterday we enjoyed Murrieta's Well "The Spur", Shug & Ferrari-Carano Merlots, Frogs Leap Zin, Silverado & Kenwood Jack London Cabs and the Bolla Amarone. Our favorite was "The Spur" Meritage. We had 5 bottles of that wine.. :D

Thanks for the recommendations...I've enjoyed the Silverado & the Kenwood Jack London Cabs at Chef's Tables & now they're a favorite of mine. :D

For those who like a glass on the balcony, Black Box wine travels well in checked luggage and fits perfectly in the fridge. I'm generally not a fan of boxed wine, but do think that Black Box is better than most. It's a lot easier than taking four bottles too!

Don't bring it to the dining room though!:rolleyes:

Nice to see a Sancerre onboard - always a fave of ours. Ditto for the Gewurz which we enjoyed at the wine bar in the atrium mid-afternoon w/ sushi.

Some nice low-ends here also: the LaPostelle Cabby & the Caliterra Tributo are nice Chilean Cabs. The Cote-d-Rhone and Chateauneuf also satisy.

The Domaine Chandon at $35 is a nice diversion for the balcony and a worthy step-up from the Korbel at $28. I remember buying the Veuve Cliquot for $48 on board not too many years ago.

Our go-to in the MDR is usually the Jack London, but I'll be sure to try the Murietta at your suggestion!

Thanks, cheers!

Nice to see they still have the Opus One on the list. On our last two cruises we went to the "higher" end wine tasting event and were offered a special to purchase a bottle of Opus and get a free dinner for two in any of the specialty restaurants as well as a refund of the $10pp to attend the wine tasting. Turned a $169 bottle of wine into a $100 bottle, which I will take again if offered. Wonderful stuff:)

Checked these prices against a partial list from 2009 and the increases are minimal. Ten bottles increase by $2-3 each and were mostly bottles in the 20's and low 30's.

Hope that approach remains. It helps my daily bottle of wine with dinner budget. :)

I found that in order to get pricing similar to Princess on RCCL, I had to buy a 'wine package' & required to purchase "x" number of bottles to get a discount. :eek:

Wow, that's a good deal! That may persuade me to go the tastings, which we usually pass on. Thanks for that!
