Boards, settle a bet please

I am sailing on the Valor in January, through lots of mishaps, and customer service calls, myself, my mom and my dad are booked in a ocean suite. I know that suite "perks" are not the same as FTTF perks, but on my last cruise (November) my mom swears she saw a sign flashing by guest services that suite guest staterooms were ready at 11:30, same as FTTF. I vehemently disagree, and believe they are ready at 1:30 with everyone else's. We are all content to wait around until the announcements are made that all staterooms are ready, but I have some casino money bet down on this, so i'm curious.

Anyone care to chime in?

Mom is always right....lol Suites fall under the priority status (like Platinum, Diamond and FTTF).... Cabins will be ready when they board

Arggghhh!! That's $20 that goes to her then. Haha, should have known better than to bet against the woman who knows literally everything.

Thank you!

A partial list of FTTF benefits per Carnival's website. Notice Suites are not mentioned like Diamond and Platinum Guests. You get to keep your $20 and collect another $20 from lcpagejr :D!

Here's what the program includes:

Priority Security, Check-in and Boarding

A dedicated security and check-in lane has been set aside for all Priority guests on embarkation day. FTTF guests will board after VIFP Diamond, Platinum and guests traveling in deluxe suite accommodations.

Note: Only Diamond, Platinum and guests traveling in deluxe suite accommodations have access to the Captain’s Lounge.

First Access to Stateroom

Your stateroom will be ready for you as soon as you board, so you can relax or freshen up for all the fun you are about to have.

Note: This is also a benefit for VIFP Diamond and Platinum guests.

Suites are not included and, therefore, not mentioned.

Thank you for the information!

Valor is on bard with the S&S cards in the mailbox, so we wouldn't be able to get in unless it is ready, but my dad has trouble walking and standing for long periods of time, so I figured asking would save us a trip down to our cabin.

This is the FAQ statement regarding FTTF. It doesn't mention Suite cabins.

Shoot, I'm just glad to not stand in the cattle line. Although I will feel a gleam of terrible when I walk by everyone.

I love that way of doing things! It makes it so much quicker. Keep looking for FTTF. You never know when it will pop up. Check super early in the mornings. That's when I've had good luck when I was looking for it.

When we've booked suites they have always been ready when we boarded. Those laminated signs are printed on the ships and may vary at times from ship to ship. It may not say it on the sign but our suites have always been ready, just saying.

I've never seen those signs posted at guest services either but I never looked ;)

Now that they have gone to the cards in the mailboxes, you won't be able to. Just because they were always ready before (which happened to be a coincidence) doesn't mean you were supposed to. And that is why they went to the new system. Suite cards will be in the mailboxes when all the cabins are ready unless you are Diamond/Platinum/FTTF. The signs did not vary from ship to ship besides the name and deck of the Lido Buffet that I have seen since FTTF and the cabin ready upon embarkation was made a perk.

And that's the only reason the key issue procedures were changed? Much ado about nothing.

If you find your stateroom attendant, he/she will allow you to drop off your bags...especially if you slip them a $20. I did it EVERY time before FTTF ever existed. Some people here are perhaps just a bit uptight. Gimme a break. It's no big deal.

One of them. People going to their cabins early when they aren't supposed to gets to be a real issue apparently. JH even mentioned it last week telling people not to go in.

Plus the cards in the mailboxes when your cabin is ready also speeds the embarkation up by bypassing the second line in the terminal. I love it.

It is a big deal. Cabins are open and items aren't secured. Luggage is also in the way as crew is rushing to get cabins ready. Other inconsiderate guests also take a few minutes to unpack, change clothes, use the bathroom, shut the doors and then times that by people with cabins together, all using up the few minutes crew have left to turn over all their rooms.

Go back to last Sunday on JH's page and watch the video he made. It's called "Please don't ignore the sign". He asked that you NOT do that and the RS of course aren't going to tell you no because they are too nice. When in reality they don't want to upset the guests and have them remove gratuities.

Before FTTF existed, RS had less cabins to do as well as more help. Things have changed.

Now that your S&S card won't be in your mailbox, you can't get in and if you stop your RS from completing their work affecting their flow and other people's cabins from getting done, then that's nothing but selfish. Go when you are supposed to.

Darn it!! My bad. Got mixed up with RCCL.. Have only had a suite once and I forgot it was with them about 10 years ago....Atleast back then,,,They (RCCL) allowed priority boarding if you booked a suite.

Well said and pretty much what I wanted to say in response to the myopic viewpoint of Miss No Big Deal.
