Soda price without Beverage Package

THey don't sell the soda from a gun outside of the package. A can is $2 + 15% gratuity or a 6 pack for $10. Or you can bring your own on board.

The package, which is soda from a gun is $8.05 US per day, and includes mocktails and a few other extras (see Princess web site for current details).

I will no longer order it. On my last cruise 2 bars served me diet coke that tasted salty, fishy. They knew what I was talking about but nothing improved throughout the week. /you can bring your oen cans of soda and there is a fridge in your cabin.

Yeah...on our last cruise we went out of FLL. I had 2 soda drinkers with me, so the package for each would have cost $160. An easy trip to Publix cost me about $25 and we actually had a significant amount left over which we passed on to the crew (after asking if they wanted it). They had what they wanted and quality assured.

No, I wouldn't do this if it were difficult, but FLL is easy.

If you bring your own cans, can you bring one to dinner and drink it?

No any drinks carried on officially should only be drunk in the confines of your cabin but I am sure some sneak it out to areas around the ship to save a few $/£.

I've never had a problem / sideways glances / raised eyebrows taking cans of soda I've brought on board to the MDR or buffet, and I've been supplied, without asking, with a glass and ice and a straw. BUT that is Princess out of Australia where there is no gratuity added to bar tabs, so I'm not doing anyone out of a tip.

I have openly carried a can of soda into the dining room many times; no "sneaking it in". Never had a problem. I've also requested a glass of ice and was furnished with same with no comment whatsoever from servers.

Maybe if more passengers did this Princess would clue in that the soda they offer is below standards. No reason you can't get a glass and ice from buffet where you serve yourself.

Amazed at people who carry on their own cans of soda and then openly take them into restaurants and have the cheek to ask for glass/ice just to save $2.

What could possible be a problem with it? Some people bring mixed drinks from the bar and I have seen them ask for more ice. All part of the service.

OR maybe they prefer a type/brand of sofa that is not available on the ship.

OR maybe they don’t want to have to wait for the server to have time to walk all the way to the bar.

I have even stopped at the bar en route to the dining room, picked up my soda or Perrier, and headed with it to the dining room. I don’t like waiting until all the orders are taken, and sometimes partway into my meal to have my drink. And sometimes I bring my own can or bottle. Never seems to be a problem with the staff.

Does anyone know how the canned Diet Soda is in Barcelona as compared to Diet Coke in New York? What would be the brand to buy?

I can`t comment on the can but I have bought diet coke in the bottle. It does taste a bit different but not much different. And I am a big diet coke drinker. I believe it was either coke light or coke zero.

On the Grand Princess in February we brought a couple cases of Coke Zero but I ended up buying the soda pass on board for a couple reasons. I didn't initially buy it because the similarly priced package on Carnival just comes with cans, but I found out onboard the Princess ships allow mocktails AND milkshakes. That greatly moved the needle as a value proposition because I love milkshakes and because being in recovery it's nice to order mocktails/fruit punches occasionally while in the casino or watching a lounge act. (Also, it's nice to be able to get a soda on demand in those situations too).

If you like to drink soda and if you think you'll also want a few milkshakes and mocktails I highly recommend doing what I did. If you won't touch the other drinks and only want a couple sodas a day, you are better off bring some for your room and buying an occasional one from the bar.

There is no limit to the amount of soda you can bring on board. Yes, you and husband could each bring a 12 pack if you wished.

They have removed the milkshakes from the Soda and More package. If you go to the Princess web site it has been removed from the description. A few ships are still allowing it, but most have eliminated it. They will still serve you a shake, but I think it was $3 + tip.

How much soda can we bring on the ship? For example, could my husband and I each bring on a six pack of diet Coke?

You can bring that and more. On my two Alaska cruises I brought a 12 pack of cans the first leg, and a six pack of 20 oz bottles the second. Carried on in one of the blue Princess canvas bags from my collection (not necessarily what they planned their use for?). The second leg also contained the remaining three bottles from the 12 pack of water I ordered for the first leg--plus assorted snacks accumulated during my stay on land in between. No one batted an eyelash at me boarding with all that.

Lots of old claims of bringing a giant case from Costco, slapping a luggage tag on and handing it to the porters. Attempt that at your own risk, as the language of the current Passage Contract can be interpreted as all beverages brought on board (allowable wine and/or non-alcoholic) must be carried on.
