For those who have sailed recently from the Port of Miami how was the appointment times handled? If one has an arrival appointment time of 10:30 and arrives at 11:15 - which line is the person put in? I know one can t enter the building ahead of time and can arrive anytime after their appointment time. Is there a separate check-in line for those who arriver after their appointed time ?

Most likely the next available group. There isn't a specific checkin line by time. They just look at your boarding pass and you move through to the next area. They board by group numbers (i.e. 1,2,3). We were Platinum so we were able to arrive anytime.... But I do recall when we were boarding they were already beginning to call groups (by assigned number)

Thank you Icpagejr for your response however, I'm not referring to zone numbers once inside the terminal - but to times to enter the building. There are about 20 in my group including myself who are platinum , the other 50 or so aren't.

All I was saying...There is not a special line for specific check in time. Before you enter into the terminal a Carnival Rep will look at your paperwork...similar to what a TSA agent does at Airport. You are then directed inside to another person who checks your documents (ie passport, cruise paperwork, etc). I would assume the person outside the terminal is the gatekeeper for those who arrive before their appointed time. In your case since your group will be arriving after their appointed time...they should be ushered straight inside to begin the check-in process

We sailed from Miami in February and November. There were two lines outside the port building: Priority (Diamond, Platinum, Suites, and FTTF) and General. We are Platinum, so we stood in the Priority line.

We did not see any lines based on Check In times. (We sailed from Long Beach in April and there were signs posted with Check In times. People stood in their corresponding time line. I wish all ports did it that way.)

I wonder if people who come after their Check In times can show their Boarding Passes to port employees and proceed in front of others who are entering. I bet there will be looks of daggers being thrown at backs, but it's no different than going right up to the VIP line at Guest Services when there is the other line or being escorted to a tender in front of others.

The Priority lines are around the side (might depend on which terminal you are in. Seems like the one we always get is the one on the left). The general lines with check in signs and queues are out front. I did see the signs in October. They had one for “Current Check in Time” and different ones for early/late arrivals. I’m Platinum so went around the side, but our Uber dropped us off to the right of the front of the terminal so we had to walk past all of them.

There were lots of people that arrived early because that line was long. They were checking Times and making you wait if you got there sooner.

When we sailed on Glory (Thanksgiving week) our check in time was noon to 12:30. We arrived at the port at 11:20. When we rounded the corner to the building entrance the first thing we saw was a line for "late/early arrivals", so that's where we went (I didn't even look to see what other lines were available). There was no one actually in line so when we reached the front an employee waved us in to the building where we were promptly checked in and then directed to the waiting area. Long story short by the time our assigned time arrived we were sitting in the Atrium with a drink in our hands.

Aren't you Platinum or Diamond, though?

Nobody has sailed recently from Port of Miami.

Read the whole thread...Sparks and myself both cruised over Thanksgiving out of Miami?! I will say I did enter from the left side of terminal (this is where my transportation dropped us off) which apparently is for priority boarding. No lines. But I also don't recall much activity in the front of the terminal for Vista. But we did arrive around 10:45am

No such thing as "Port of Miami" ;)

Each time I have sailed from Miami there has been TWO lines before entering the terminal. One was for people that were arriving after their time, and the other was for ontime or waiters. Each time I have had 11-11:30 times and last time I arrived towards the end of that they put me right into the "arrived after their time" line with no one in it while the people w noon times were lining up. They told me they let people in 15 minutes before their time.

At the security line/luggage check just inside the terminal they also check your documents/scan passports. After this stage we were given a number and sent upstairs to the main terminal where you would normally check in. Most of the desks were shut down with a couple open for people to clear up issues, but once we were upstairs we were done and just had to wait for our zone to be called. We waited maybe 15 minutes and it was busy but not jam packed. Our card for payment was associated to our account during online check in, and our key cards were waiting in the mailbox of our room in a sealed envelope.

So if you arrive AFTER your time you will def have no issue. If there is a long line walk up to the front and show them your pass has an earlier time and they will put you into the "arrived after time" line.

Thank you LMaxwell. I have 50 people on the bus with me with 2 different times (10:30am and 11:00am, however I'm thinking we won't arrive at the port until around 11:30. I just want to have my grrr group prepared as-much-as possible.

Im taking a large group out of Galveston and recently polled a bunch of Galveston cruisers for exactly the same reason. I had heard that changes were made since my last time out of there (may) and wanted to have my people prepared. It turns out that Galveston is also doing 3 lines... Priority, On Time & early/late. They also streamlined check in to a single stop. I can totally relate to wanting your group to be prepared and not add to the chaos.

We just got off the Vista Sunday. When we arrived at POM, there were two lines one said on time, the other said early/late arrivals. Our PAT was 11:00a. We were about 30 min early, so we got in the early/late line and had about 4 or 5 people in front of us. There was someone from CCL at the front of the line telling people which agent to go to. I did notice that if someone showed up in the on time line, they let them go ahead of the early/late line.
