Adventures of Mark and Tom on the Getaway Western Caribbean 1/28/2018 - Pseudo Live !

Good Morning fellow Cruise Critics

As I type this we are getting ready for our next adventure. A western Caribbean sailing on the NCL Getaway. This is our first time on this ship and this itinerary. We are staying in a H7 Forward Facing Penthouse (first time in The Haven, but not the suite life).

We hail from Tucson, AZ and arrived yesterday via American Airlines to Miami. We are staying at the Sheraton Miami Airport (older hotel, recently renovated).

I usually write up a small review after our cruises but thought this time I would try a pseudo live review. This will be my first time so be patient :). Ask away! We should arrived to the port around 11:00 AM or so.

Made it to the Port. The Miami marathon was this morning so the streets around downtown were still closed.

Our driver took the tunnel which made the drive around the port super quick.

Porters were quick and friendly. We boarded through terminal C. There is a small Haven check in right after security were you get keycards. From there you are escorted to the second floor embarkation lounge with a TINY priority lounge.

They announced boarding will start around 11:30

Following - we cruise in April. We have stayed in the Getaway FW PH and I loved the cabin! Enjoy.

Having lunch. Attached a file for The Haven Lunch menu. Boarding was chaotic but organized to the main elevators to be whisked away to The Haven elevators.

Yes it is - we just chose to dine in Haven.

Because you were in the Haven, were you able to board first??

I was worried the Getaway would feel “too big” but I have not felt getting from aft to forward and vice versa is difficult.

Loving the Forward Penthouse - will post pictures later.

Since you're in the Haven you may not know but, any idea how long it took for the Vibe tix to sell out?

We are only 'Bronze' on NCL. If they are all sold to priority boarders I would rather not rush to try & get on the ship early just to find out they are all gone.

Yes we boarded prior to group one and we scanned first and second onto the boat.

Good Monday Morning

I am amazed how smooth this ship feels, even in choppy waters like we had last night. I am sitting at breakfast and don’t have the sensation we are moving

Overcast today, but should clear by the afternoon.

Today we are doing Wine Lovers Musical and the Cirque show tonight for dinner.

I think I will post more and reply once we are in Belize and have access to better WiFi.
