Smallest Diamond Platinum party

I counted 18 guests. ED said there were only 28 PD aboard. This was a 5 day Fantasy class ship, which likely doesn't attract as many PD. Are others seeing this? I wonder how many people are now Platinum and Diamond?

There were at least 3 servers--you could have had as much drinks and food as you wanted!

we were on the Fantasy 2 weeks ago and there were almost 300 there at the pd party. plenty of good apps and anything you wanted to drink!

The smallest we have done was in the Piano bar with 8 people

I have attended a Diamond party where the officers present out numbered Diamond guests 8 to 2. That is not a ratio, it is an actual count.

I have also attended a Diamond luncheon party where there were 125 Diamond guests. That menu included Wagyu beef.

Off the Inspiration last week, 5 Diamond onboard. John Heald posted that 0 Diamonds were onboard the Imagination last week.

Had 188 on the Miracle Alaska cruise. The West Coast doesn’t have as many Diamonds.

The last PD party that DH and I attended -- we never got in. When we rode the elevator down and the doors opened, you literally couldn't get off because of the mass of people. It was just too much chaos, so we really haven't had an interest in them anymore, nor do we need the Funship Freddy Specials and one hors d'oeuvre. But having read your comments, we may try it again on our next cruise. :D

The smallest Diamond party I ever attended, and it used to happen fairly often, was ONE. Yep, just me! It's been 5 years or so ago, but it wasn't unusual at all on the smaller ships, back then. GREAT fun, with meeting on the bridge as the norm.

You are lucky. Whenever we attend the PD parties, there are in the hundreds! I would say the least number we have ever experienced at the PD party is 250-300? with the number of Platinums growing by leaps every week, it can only increase.

I would say platinums now number in the thousands and Diamonds are probably close to 1000 if not over. I am curious of the exact numbers too. I know that when I was gold, I heard that the gold group was the fastest growing group and now that I am Platinum, I hear that is the fastest growing group. I do notice though that less D and P are on the Fantasy-class ships.

I was the only diamond on the 1/2/18 Sensation sailing. I got an invite and thought it was a diamond/platinum event even though it was only a 4 night cruise. When I got to the venue the group coordinator was waiting to escort me in. I thought that was really weird. When I got inside I found out it was actually a crew event and I was the only passenger invited. It was really special and I had a great time. I can't elaborate but I can say that Carnival does some really nice things for the crew.

My first two were yuge!!!! Curious to see what they'll be on my next three cruises assuming they don't fall victim to cutbacks between now and May. To be honest, I'm half expecting that to happen at this rate!

Small ones are the best. More drinks for me....

Have never been to a PD party even though we have been Platinum for many years. Thought they would be just like a past guest party that we stopped going to. Maybe I should attend one on my next cruise. :)

After the change to just Platinum/Diamonds, the attendance was down. The last 3 parties I attended, place was packed.

These are two different events.

Diamonds usually have something special. We’ve had cocktails with the officer, brunch and lunch where they said hello and ran. Mom has had Tea up on the bridge. Friend had dinner with the officers.

The D/P parties we’ve been to have been in the showroom or on of the lounges.

I stopped attending when I started buying Cheers package.... No need for any free drinks!!

I have been to almost 60 Diamond & Platinum Reunion parties. They have varied greatly in size as others have observed. However, the D&P parties have always have had a much larger attendance the Captain's Diamond event. My Diamond events have had as few as 2 (wife and me) up to a couple hundred on journey cruises.

Last carnival cruise was the vista- there was over 500 people in that party very tight in a very small show lounge. we didnt stay too long after the announcements
