San Juan at night

We are in port from 5:00 pm to 1:00am which is odd, but may be cool. Any suggestions on things to do and is it safe at night? Any good restaurants?

Our ship will be in port from 3:30pm to 11pm so I have this question as well... Thanks in advance for any replies :)

We usually stay a couple nights in San Juan before getting on the ship. Old San Juan at night is a great place to have a good meal, cruise around and barhop. We have never had a problem there but of course we stick to areas that are populated and stay off the quiet dark streets. I have not used uber there.

Being an ex NYC guy with a slight knowledge of Spanish helped me when walking around old San Juan at night. Be street smart just as you would in any other American city.

Old San Juan is perfectly fine at night, just don't be stupid about it (like anywhere else).

Uber works great in San Juan. Just used them two days ago.

Going to the bio bay is a very popular thing to do, but it is a bit of a drive to get there so make sure you book with someone reputable.

Is Old San Juan walking distance from the cruise port or is Uber or taxi the thing to do? We are going with a group in March and this is probably be exactly what we do!
