$12 Drinks? No thanks!

Recommended Posts

I didn't even think of MSC! Even more options. Carnival is not an option because I know they don't have any suite perks. Thank you for the suggestion!

Off topic, but for your info,,,

If you like suites, MSC's ship within a ship idea with their 'Yacht Club' might be to your liking. (NCL's Haven is similar, but averages about a $1000. more PP)

The Yacht Club run around '$1900.PP for a 7 day cruise' with a balcony cabin in a private area of the ship, and the service is over the top.

They meet you at the pier, take your luggage and you through the check in process(no waiting) up to your cabin. An attendant will be available to you for the entire cruise. Want to leave the ship on an excursion, an attendant takes you right to the boats(again no waiting). When you leave, an attendant walks you right off the ship(again no lines) Want to go shopping, an attendant will escort you to the shop of your choice, and even cash you out.(again no waiting)

The Yacht Club area includes a private bar(free drinks all the time), private restaurant, private pool/jacuzzi, and private buffet. And the mini bar is also free, and refilled as needed.:D

The 2012 Divina out of Miami is a beautiful ship, and a new 'Seaside Class' ship will be coming to Miami in 2017.

Yesterday we flipped our rci reservation for MSC. We got on a 10-nighter to most of the eastern Caribbean island, on a suite, with free 60 minute massage, private sundeck access, priority seating at shows and dinner for a few hundred dollars more than we were going to pay for a 7-nighter aboard FoS on simple cat D1. Cocktails and specialty coffee drinks are included as well. If you can sail on the odd schedule MSC has out of Miami, it truly is a fantastic deal. The itineraries to Aruba, Cartagena, Panama and Costa Rica looks super awesome too. Too bad those dates didn't work for us.

Shall be looking to cancel my b2b on explorer and take my business elsewhere. RCCL are really taking the piss with this.

No, they're leaving it in the mattresses...

Are they posted somewhere?

Sure, they're on the Explorer forums. Here you go...

I've seen these menus so far

I'm the poster of the explorer menus above. Just to clarify, I've never had a gratuity added to the menu price on any of my Southampton (UK) based cruises. The menu price is the price you pay, including gratuity. Not sure if that's a legal thing over here, but it was the same on adventure last year, menu prices were just higher than I'd seen n pictures on here from US based sailings.

Also the premium package has a $14 limit on here (see below)

And if Diamond Plus freebies go away, so will I!

If the "freebies" go away there will be no reason to be "loyal to Royal" any more

(almost a relief!)

That could be said about just about anyone who has earned any status with any particular cruise line. Will the last one left, please turn out the lights.

........

"Let's price the drinks across the entire ship at minibar-in-a-Manhatten-hotel levels."

Maybe the knuckleheads in the Ivory Tower will at least notice this thread, if not actually do anything about it.

I'm in NYC right now and had a cocktail at dinner at the hotel restaurant, $19 plus 18% gratuity
