Carnival's Steakhouse - Worth the price?

I would say that (in general) physical "attractiveness" must be one of the criteria which is used in determining who will be promoted to the specialty restaurant. Overall, compared to the MDR (and IMHO), the staff there are easy on the eyes.

Tom

True of every one we have been to on every ship. What a coincidence!

copied and pasted from a previous post about the supper clubs:

Our family was on the Glory Aug. '09, Me, DW, DS, and DD.

Reservations were for 7:30. We arrived on time.

Some observations about the supper club:

There were only about 4 or 5 tables that were in attendance.

We had 2 blonde and attentive waitresses that were very attractive.

I could barely understand a word they said. Romanian, Slovak,

They explained the cuts of meat, "toonii we hab a beddy find and weel marabilled coots obb beees - tweeble wansis of filley. And deees eees a a streep wit tweeenty wansis."

It was like thise for each menu item as it was presented.

I smiled and acted like I understood what they were saying, because they were cute...:D

My fork and knife were strangely magnetic, and I could attach one to the other by putting them close together, and could hold them up in the air.

One of our waitresses found this very funny. When I asked why this was, she laughed and said "weee don' know why dey do dis eeder" - at least I think that's what she said...

Food was head and shoulders above the MDR.

I'll be back. :)

lol, at the roomservice conversation. We'll be on our first cruise in May on the Dream. I get the impression that most conversations with the crew go like that. Do you run into many crew members who don't have thick accents? I've been watching all the cruise shows on the travel channel and it seems like that's the way it goes. :)

We've chosen to do the supperclub our first night on the Dream, which is our 28th anniversary. Plan on ordering a bottle of champagne and enjoy a wonderful dinner.

OMG, that is exactly our experience too. It was very difficult to understand the girl who described the meats.

That was the one thing I found odd--that they had women servers in the Supper Club. I'm so used to seeing men waiters in finer restaurants.

We had a group of 12 and it was fantastic. I will do the steakhouse more than once on every cruise. It's worth it for the food and the ambiance. There are no banging plates and you don't have to scream to talk to each other. Worth every sincle cent, and I would do it all 7 days...

Thanks for all of the feedback. I will probably skip the steakhouse this upcoming cruise as we will be a group of 5. Plus there's one cheapskate in our group who wouldn't want to do it .

Sounds like it might work out better with just 2.

What is that wonderfful pudding looking thing with the white and dark chocolate swiss cheesy looking dessert? We booked the Golden Fleece for the night of Belize, since we will all be back on the ship by 12:30. I have heard such wonderful things about the lobster bisque. and I guess that was a picture of the surf and turf. I love food porn. Please tell me what the dessert is before I sail!

One question. How much of what you ordered did you actually receive?
