Thanks for the wonderful review. We live 20 minutes from the port of Baltimore, so I cannot wait to cruise the Pride someday. She looks fun!Loved seeing the Mexican buffet because, on our 3 CCL cruises, we have yet to make it to the Mexican buffet...it's on my 'to do' list for our August Carnival Glory cruise to Canada.

Thank you laumicmah, have fun. :)

Mike once again what a GREAT review so far. I hope Tracy is doing well with training and the kids are not driving you to crazy....LoL I 9 days before our Carnival Dream cruise can't wait and reading your review and seeing your pictures just helps the wait thank you. I can't wait to read the rest of your review (probably when I get back) I will try my hand at writing a review for my cruise, but I know it won't live up to yours :-) Have a good day. Carla

Thank you Carla, all is well, Tracy is overwhelmed at the moment but that's typical in the first month. She's up at 5 a.m and to bed at 11 p.m. I get a 5-10 minutes call from her almost every day along with a couple of texts.

Wow, going on the Dream, I'll be looking forward to your review. :)

Arr, ye be seein' that bridge in the distance? I walked from the Pirates of Nassau Museum to said bridge, over it, and onto the island. Aye, call me mad if ye like, for surely I was...especially when I started noticing the bursitis kicking in, like taking a musket ball to the hip...

And I been enjoyin' seein' yer photos, so I have, and I've pirated more than a few to add to me collection...I can almost smell that salt sea air. Come October, I'll be doin' it again...but I won't be takin' that long walk, goose me wi' a handspike else!

Thanks mate. :D

Mike, you always write the best reviews. :) I think you could make any ship look great.

Looks like you had such a fabulous time together!!

I wish Tracy all the best for her training, and hope you all go ok for the time she is away!

:)

Thank you laurenpie. You must be happy that Spirit is coming your way. It's alway been a dream of our to visit Australia, Tracy has relatives there. It would be neat for us to included a cruise on Spirit. :)

For those interested, "the Radiant was commissioned by the Russian media tycoon Boris Berezovsky but he subsequently sold her to Abdulla al-Futtaim, a billionaire car dealer from the United Arab Emirates, before she was completed. Built in 2010, length 110 m, crew 44, guests 20.

As well as the standard features for a yacht of this size - helipad, gymnasium, cinema, spa - she has one of the highest security specifications ever conceived. Berezovsky ordered a personal "escape launch" – a speedboat with turbo-charged twin diesel engines capable of exceeding 75 knots. She is also equipped with an arsenal of sonic guns that fire low-frequency sound waves that can burst the eardrums of approaching assailants, and a military water cannon capable of sinking an approaching boat at more than 100 yards."

The thought of a skiff full of Somali Pirates approaching this baby and having their ears explode just brought a smile to my face :-)

Did you get any close-up shots of the sailboat that was next to her?

After a couple of hours we decide to walk the short distance to Atlantis. I thought that Atlantis was just a nice hotel and casino well it’s a lot more than that. It’s a huge resort with several hotel buildings scattered throughout the resort, three beaches (Paradise, Cove and Atlantis), marina, lagoons, aquarium, theatre, night club, comedy club, water park, golf course, world class shopping, 21 restaurants and 19 bars and lounges.

I believe we entered via the conference centre,(lower right of map) made our way through the Crystal Court shops to the casino.

Mike,

I'm enjoying this review as much as I enjoyed your last one - thank you so much for taking the time to write all about your cruise and for posting all of these beautiful pictures. I'm sure it will be a couple of years before our next cruise, so I really enjoy the reviews and pictures.

We were just at Atlantis for a few days this past September and it's really nice to see it with all of the Christmas decorations - really looks nice. You got several pictures of the lobby area of the Coral Towers (between where you entered and the casino) - it was nice seeing that again as that is where we stayed. Since I've been on a few cruises, I also enjoyed being able to see the cruise ships come in (got pictures of several). When we were there, Hurricane Igor had just hit Bermuda and the water was so rough - big waves, strong undertow - and the beaches were closed the entire time so we took advantage of the water park. It was really nice seeing your pictures of Cabbage beach with the water calm - what a difference!

I really enjoyed the article about Tracy that you posted earlier in the review - I think it's amazing what she is doing. I have some close friends who are with the Washington DC Police Dept. and also with the DC Fire department (some now retired). It is a very tough(and at times dangerous) job and it takes very special people and I admire all of you and really appreciate what you do.

How are Tracy's plants - are you remembering to water them? :) Couldn't resist. Looking forward to reading the rest of your review.

Hi Mike

As always it's great reliving our cruise with you here on your review.

We enjoyed our trip to Atlantis. Just a tip, the Atlantis Grill and Bar just off the Casino was a great place for lunch.

Not cheap but very good value. Think you got a picture of it.

Helene and I walked back to the port from the Atlantis. Really easy. It took just an hour. No sweat (at least

at that time of the year). Have to say walking over the bridge was the scenic highlight of our shore excursions.

Frankly I don't understand why more people don't do it. I also don't understand why people

are so willing to pay BIG bucks to Atlantis to use their beach, or water park or aquarium.

I agree with you though, Atlantis is very impressive.

Another neat experience was "cruise ship canyon" as you walk off the ship and are

placed between, in our case, 3 huge cruise ships. Wow ! Looking up you realize how massive these ships are.

Continuing to enjoy your opus.;) Best to all.

What a Great review. Lots of photos love them all. You must be so proud of your wife. Wow what an accomplishment!!!!! Way to go.

Can't wait my first cruise coming up with stops in Half Moon Cay, St. Thoams, Puerto Rico and Turks and Caicos. Any suggestions about what to would be great. I love reading about what a great time people like you and your family have on cruises.

Your destinations sounds fantastic, I haven't been to any of them yet but I'm sure there will be lots to do when you get there. Absolutely try the steakhouse and maybe the Chef's table. Have a wonderful cruise. Mike

Great pictures of Atlantis and your family. I wonder how many of us have a picture in that extremely large chair?

Sounds like Tracy's training is very grueling 5 am to 11pm, not much sleep.

I love all those fancy shmancy decorations in Atlantis! Mike, I don't want to take up your time, but was just wondering: we took the water taxi over to Atlantis last May. We just wandered around the "free areas" aka the lobby, casino (okay, it cost us a $20 slot machine pull! :() a small part of the aquarium and just a small part of the grounds. We weren't interested in staying, just wanted to see the place. We are going back in May. I have heard that since we were there, there are no longer any "free areas." That you have to pay even to walk thru the lobby. True??? Thanks. Not sure if we would go back. Might try the British Colonial Hilton on a day pass, but just wanted to know "in case."

Hubby and I sail in Nov. from NY for a 12 day cruise. We usually fly down to FLL and take an 8 day cruise on the MIracle in Jan. I am worried about choppy waters and a cool breeze but it will be nice to see the Statue of Liberty up close and personal!

November shouldn't be that bad, after one day you should have really nice weather, well hopefully. :)
