Just off Radiance for the 9-4 thru 9-11 roundtrip Vancouver and Captain Goran started off as our cpt. but then it seemed Captain Juan took over...any reason why?

 

Capt Goran may be in Europe for a meeting (Capt Henrik from ID has left for a meeting) or he may have had a family emergency at home. Capt Juan is probably the staff captain taking over for him until he returns.

Thank you guys for helping me out. I had received a message from Captain Johnny several months ago--probably before he knew he would be on duty in November. I can hope he will still be there on November 8. He is such a joy to have on board and I'm sure my husband and I will sail on the Harmony n the future--maybe late next year. We don't cruise in the summer--more expensive and more children.

Captain Johnny has 2 more contracts on Allure. Then Harmony.

Due back in a month to start the 1st of those contracts.

Captian Espen Been will be transferring to Freedom. On facebook someone said that their friend who had supper at the captains table Saturday said it would be after this cruise. I was thinking that on the September 11 cruise he said it would be about a month.

 

I don't remember for sure who it was mentioned that was taking his place other than it was a name starting with O so switching with Captain Olson from Freedom might be what is happening. It was mentioned that Captain Thrond Holm would probably be on our December 9 cruise.

Brilliance OTS - I don't know if it changed on the cruise starting on 9/27, but Capt Ole-Johan Gronhaug was still on rotation for the 9/18 sailing of Brilliance.

yes, I have a note to move him there. It may be protocol to do an overlap so his official rotation start date would be Oct 11. I know of another captain that's getting moved and he told me his official rotation start date is the week he's solely responsible on the ship, in other words, the week after the overlap.

I know when there's an overlap, the rotation doesn't start until the new master is on his own. If Espen hits the ground running, and is the master in charge on Oct 4 then that's when his rotation starts. If Capt Tor is on Oct 4, then Capt Espen's rotation doesn't officially start until Oct 11.

The four Captains RCI recently asigned to fleet captains are not from the current captains list. Captain Dahlgren is fleet captain for Celebrity, Captain Pedercini is fleet captain for Azamara and the other positions are fleet captain for RCL and SVP marine operations for all brands. Both positions are filled by other already land based executives (sorry I do not have the names on hand at the moment, but both are Americans or Canadians). Captain Zini is now in charge of the China joint venture operation with the former Celebrity Century.

Talking about a small world and a very tiny city of Turku.
