I went there and still found nothing indicating it was remotely sexual. Maybe you could link me because I am still not seeing it.

No!! I haven't said there was anything sexual about it! That was someone else. I was just giving the link info for the group that is cruising.

Ok I think the confusion is because a pp/thread had us googling "grown and sexy group", not grownandsexycruise.. I see it now & it does look fine.

Gotya :) I think there is a lot of confusion gong on, period. People found a similar named group and thought they were the ones cruising when its another group.

I think any group this large is going to suck. Their FB page said its over 2200 people!

Yes, there does seem to be alot of confusion, these are not the same groups/website. However I agree with you, any group that large on one cruise, never a good thing. I dont know which ship the OP booked, but 2200 people would take up most of the ship on a lot of ships! I would definitely change my booking, I would feel like a stranger at a family reunion! LOL

Any group calling itself "grownandsexy" rings loud alarm bells and cynical old me cant believe there's no connection between these two organisations. The website wording is suspiciously coy and non-specific. If the cruise group really is as innocuous as they claim they've picked a very unfortunate name for themselves because it leads to the kind of confusion we see in this thread. A group of 2000+, possible swingers or not, is still a good reason to RUN.

Not that it clears up any confusion, but the group on this cruise seems to have named theirselves after the R&B album by Babyface, Grown and Sexy.

My concern would be when you look at the FB page and see the pic of them on the Lido deck, you CANT SEE the Lido deck. So if you so happen to go to the Lido at this particular time, would it be closed off for a private event or just plain too crowded for anyone to get near it? Not the way I would want to spend my cruise, trying to get around a crowd of 2200.

OP, I know the PVP told you there wasn't any groups on this sailing but on their FB page, you can clearly see that they are on your ship. Please rebook so you will have an enjoyable cruise. With this crowd, I don't think it will be possible.

We sailed on the Triumph one year with a very large group and our stateroom was smack dab in the middle of a large number of passengers from this group. They propped open their stateroom doors up and down the hallway and pulled their little chairs out in the hall and had three or four boom boxes all tuned to the same station blasting music day and night and they were drinking, dancing and partying in the halls constantly, not to mention their total takeover of the casino, piano bar, disco, dining room, Lido deck, show lounge, etc. They also thought it was funny to remove our breakfast room service order sheet and throw it away (I caught them red handed) and bang on our door in the middle of the night and run away like children. I complained many times to Guest Services and received lip service but no action. Carnival Security came up one evening and asked them to close their doors and bring in the music but as soon as he was gone, they were back out in the hall again. Carnival does close off certain venues for "group meetings".

This was the most horrible cruise experience I ever had and I couldn't wait to get off the ship. My one and only vacation that year turned into a complete disaster. We were very disappointed that we were not forewarned about this large group and that our complaints were mostly ignored. So, the group doesn't have to be swingers, if it's a large group, they will take over the entire ship and it's venues and profess an air of entitlement from their numbers alone.

OH HE!! NO! So sorry this happened to you, there would have been steam coming out of my ears the entire time! I quite possibly would have had a stroke on vacation!!:p

Groups this large should have to at least "charter" the entire deck/s of cabins, I just can not imagine being stuck in the middle of that.

I cruised on the Freedom with a large travel agency group that was about 600+. I was very disappointed that Carnival let them take over public venues (lobby bar, wine bar, piano bar) simultaneously by closing them for a private function. They would "bar hop" for several hours on at least 3 evenings. It's a good thing that the aft Lido bar stays open late.

I don't think it will ever happen, but I think groups over 300ish should have to be disclosed.

Recently found out about a HUGE group on our sailing. Grown and sexy group has a website but not going to put it on here. Has anyone ever sailed with this group the website says its an annual cruise. Is it as rowdy as it looks? People are backing out from the sailing because of this. Kinda nervous myself now.

best you avaoid any large group sailings. they tend to take over the ship.

i have cancelled and rebooked in the past when i found out.

google has always been my friend for these, but you must try the variations of dates, from written out to mm/dd/yyyy.

most amusing one i found was a dialysis group. we went anyway.

the worst was a Rosie cruise. we cancelled right away, and rebooked on ccl.

How many people were in that group? And did it seem to take over the whole ship?

Well I don't care if it were NUNS! Any group of 2000+ would send me scrambling to find another cruise!

baf

Speaking of nuns - we went on a Valor cruise that was overtaken (more than 1,500 people) by a church group. (they would get together from all over the U.S. 1x a year on a cruise - we happened to hit that week without knowing.) While the people themselves were very nice, many of the activities were "taken over" by them, and many of the lounges were closed much of the day and night for their "private" activities. I would never book/stay booked on a cruise with such a large group. I would change my ship/date.
