should we pack our own shampoo/conditioner?

Just wondering if HAL supplies you with a decent set of shampoo/conditioner or should we pack our own? We leave this Wednesday on the Volendam for our Alaskan cruise:)

It will depend on if you lake the shampoo/conditioner they supply. My DW has to use certain products so we always carry our own.

As noted, HAL does supply shampoo, conditioner, as well as lotion. And liquid soap in dispensers in the showers. The products are Elemis.

I don't care for them. I think they smell like dried grass.

I love Elemis products .I wish they were available where I reside.

Have you looked online? I bet they have an online store or there is an online source that stocks Elemis products. I don't care for them myself, but so many people like them that I'd be surprised if there weren't a way to get them online.

If for some reason (allergies?) you do need to have your own shampoo, conditioner, body wash... I really like the GoToobs. They're easy to fill and use and come in the sizes I want. And they bounce. I use them in our camper and also in our shower at home for when I get the Costco sizes of products. :D

For me, the conditioner was good but I didn't care for the shampoo. It doesn't lather much and as it turns out, doesn't clean much either. After a scalp massage in the spa, my hair was covered in oil and even after shampooing it out in the spa shower, it was still oily. I'd stick to my own shampoo next time.

The Elemis shower gel and body lotion are really nice, though, worth a try!

HAL provides Elemis shampoo and conditioner in large containers on the shower/tub walls as well as bath gel. I really like that shampoo so never bring our own.

Agree. Unlike NCL and RCCL, HAL gives everyone quality Elemis products. I've had this in a suite on NCL but we all get treated as special guests on HAL.

I like the Elemis conditioner and buy it now online at home. I prefer Biolage shampoo which is very concentrated and lathers beautifully so one only needs to take very little on trips. It is one of those brands that is 80% working product and 20% water and filler, instead of most commercial shampoos that are just the opposite.

I also prefer bar soap over bath gels and absolutely have to have my Dove face soap so, yes I do still haul a lot of my own favorite products along though Dove products one can buy nearly everywhere around the world these days. If you use a commonly found internationally known brand, you can see if you can find it in a port stop instead of taking the full load of product along with you in your luggage if you are in for a long cruise. Proctor and Gamble's line of products is pretty easy to find. Internet searches today can help one locate product brands and availability in certain port cities, plus the ship store carries a line of OTC products as well.
