I will be boarding in a few days. Is there ice cream on board the Statendam? Self serve? Ice cream 'treat'? thanks

 

Also where on board can hubby smoke?

Yes -- there is FREE ice cream on all HAL ships. It is not self serve.

The ice cream station is open from 11:30 AM until about 4 PM. Then it closes until it is time for the Lido dinner to begin -- around 5:30. I am not certain what time it closes -- usually around 8 or 8:30 and then will reopen again for the Late Evening snack.

There will be several flavors to choose from and lots of toppings to choose from.

Yes there is ice crean on board the Statendam but it is not self service. DH can smoke at the back pool area - on your balcony - casino - sports bar - section of the Promenade outside deck and I think in a section of the Crows Nest.

Just one additional comment. Ice cream is also available in the MDR. My usual HAL desert is the "crisp of the day" served with vanilla ice cream.

Some days, they may have several flavors of scooped ice cream, others it may be only one. Also, there may be scooped and soft serve depending on the day.

 

Rest assured, it will be one or the other, or both.
