WORLD CRUISE 2015 Available for Booking

Says Princess.com but is Australian website, with Aust/NZ ads, like we don't want to cruise anywhere else!!! :(

Hi MM - had to chime in, couldn't agree more! Not exotic to us, haha. The bookings for the 2014-5 exotics opened the same time in Oz as in the US - unfortunately that was 2am our time on Wednesday! (But there was indeed some sort of glitch in the way the Princess Australia website was working.) By the time we could book much of the ship showed sold out for the cruise we wanted in 2015 (Singapore to Dover on Ocean Princess) - but we were happy with the mini-suite cabin we got. :D We were in a guarantee balcony for the same cruise in 2014 and felt a bit uneasy about where we might end up so opted to go in 2015 - with a real cabin number to dream about. Wehwalt jumped ship too. Now we just have to stay fit and well for another year. Check out the itinerary - it now has Burma...In training for a World Cruise.....

(PS. Hi Cindy & Curt....sorry to hear about the accident. Remember me from Star Princess SF to Sydney? - I broke my wrist a couple of days before we sailed....)

I have the same e-mail, and if I read it correctly it was only for the full 111 day on the Pacific, but looks like the 2014 world cruise segments (over 50 days) are eligible for OBC's. We're only doing 94 days since we've done Panama Canal a few times... are the gratuities included on the segments of a world cruise also? I couldn't really tell based on the wording.

Pia, do you want me to forward you the brochure e-mail?

Since we're dealing with 2015, the brochure for 2014 is moot. They cancelled the Pacific WC for 2014. Do you have anything showing OBC for 2015?

Gratuities are only included in the full WC; not segments. The 94 is also considered a full cruise. If I do it, and it looks as though I will, we are only doing 94. I sure wouldn't want to go back to LA when I live only 40 miles or so from the port in Florida.

Hate to hear about all you folks breaking body parts. My husband broke his shoulder on board the Diamond a few years ago. At least when I broke my ankle, it was on an adventure trip hiking in Turkey. :) BTW, I'm on that Ocean cruise in '14, but only from Cape Town to Dover. We will then pick up an Adriatic cruise in Southampton.

The brochure is for the World Cruise on the Dawn 2014, and Pacific 2015.

Yes I know you are....meant to say (when I posted on the Roll Call that we were jumping ship for the 2015 cruise) that I did regret we would not get to meet you after all. Why not consider doing 2015 Singapore to Capetown as well ? ...Burma has been added now. (But - it also has Phuket instead of KL and Penang....:()

At one time I felt this would a dream vacation of a lifetime but not long ago I concluded it wasn't for me.

I do indeed love to cruise, love short to moderate length voyages, love some sea days mixed in with exotic ports and love being pampered by the crew.

But taken a look at the 94 day voyage in 2015 I see 59 sea days and 7 stops in the first month. Also 7-8 stops are in port cities we've visited already. Then finally if I look at the cost......it just seems better for us to pick and choose voyages that better fit our interest.

This isn't to say its not a great trip for some and certainly one that one would never forget.

Check page 10 of the brochure. The 111 day is considered a full World Cruise.

That is the reason why many cruisers are only attracted to segments of the World Cruise. Whilst others, who have visited many of the ports of call before, enjoy the relaxation and fellowship offered on a World Cruise.

I don't have a page 10, or for that matter any page. Of course the 111 is considered a full WC. Are they offering OBC as tennis 1000 said?

Just spoke with our TA who had been in contact with Princess regarding the OBC. She said Princess confirmed we get the OBC on the World Cruise but they were still loading things into their system for this cruise and it would be early next week before it would be taken care of . Our TA said she would send us an updated invoice once it posts.

We're either going to have to book this cruise or stop reading this thread!! Always dreamed of a World Cruise RT from California - would prefer San Francisco - but LA would do! Hoped we'd see Yokohama as a port call - that's where we began our married life and have never been back. Difficult to get to/from there when you don't fly anymore!!

Hi Cindy and Curt - just cruised with you on the Star SP cruise this spring - and on the Sydney trip in 2009. Would love to visit with you on this one!

Does anyone know what the obstructed view staterooms look like on deck 3?

I don't think they are "obstructed view, but they don't have much of a view. They have portholes instead of big windows. Also when the weather is bad, the steward comes in and locks down the porthole covers . WHen that happens, think interior cabin.

We were in one of these Deck 3 cabins for 28 days on b2b Amazon cruises. We booked at the last minute and our cabin, according to our TA was the last available and the price was phenomenal.

The cabins on the port side of Deck 3 are crew cabins. We found out from the casino mgr. who was in one of those that when the steward closed our portholes it wasn't done in the crew cabins. We figured that if it was safe for them to have an uncovered porthole, it would be safe for us, so we'd open the cover if waves weren't covering the porthole.

If you're comfortable in an interior, you'd be OK with this cabin. However, remember there are about 60 sea days on this cruise!

Personally, the only way we'd ever book one of these cabins again would be if we got the humongus discount that we got on the other cruise.

Not being very experienced in foreign travel, I'm curious! Does anyone know how many visas would be required for this cruise? I'm very tempted to make a booking!

Acccording to our online Personalizer info visas are needed for Australia, India, Vietnam, United Arab Emirates and Jordan. The visas for Vietnam, UAE and Jordan are issued upon ship arrival and the fee is charged to your onboard account. The only visa you have to get from a consulate or use a service for is India as Australia can be done online.

We were also on the Star 2009 to/from Australia in 2009.

I am currently holding a cabin on this cruise, but... we've never sailed on a ship this small. If you've done the "small ship" cruising, please give me your thoughts on 60 days at sea on the Pacific.

I can't find the 60 day itinerary on line. Where can I find it; I"ve been to the Princess website, no luck.

Thank you.

I was referring to the actual number of days at sea... I think there are about 62 sea days on the 94 day cruise.

I believe a VISA for the UAE is not required for US Citizens. Canadian citizens DO require a VISA but only if they plan to disembark the ship.

Not sure about other nationalities.

Cindy:):)

Cindy,

You are correct...it does say visa required for Canadian Passport Holders going ashore...no mention of any other nationalities.

Can someone please let me know how you found out about the WC 2015? We are curious as to find out how to book the WC and get the back suites as everytime we try to do this, they are completely sold out. They seem to disappear before the itinerary is even posted on Princess website.

Thank you for any input you can give.

We have sailed on the Pacific Princess and love the ship.

We received an e-mail earlier this week from Princess about the 2015 Exotic Cruises, but by the afternoon when I had a chance to look on-line all the aft suites were gone... only one forward suite was left. I went ahead and booked the forward suite and had them put me on a waitlist for an aft suite. I was hoping that by the time a deposit was required (5/31) someone would let their suite go, and I received an e-mail this morning that my waitlist cabin was available... the coveted aft suite!! So, you might want to be put on the waitlist... you never know what cancelations they'll have in the next year and a half.
