I think the balcony discount starting at the Platinum level is a pretty nice benefit:) There are also C&A Savings Certificates available to all levels of C&A for many cruises.

that's certainly been our favorite and most used benefit! We also use the match play coups in the casino, and the bingo coups. I sure we've probably used some of the others, but can't remember off the top of my head.

the captain of the freedom said they was considering a level ahead of gold . if you are thinking of cruising you drive by and the throw chocolates at you :D

I sent a detailed e-mail to Mr. Goldstein and it was forwarded to the Loyalty Department about having a level before Gold for new cruisers.

What I proposed is that once everyone sets up a Crown and Anchor Membership they would be assigned a number and right away they can get a discount book to introduce them to the new venues onboard, have scavenger hunts learning about cruising and even have a First Time Cruiser Party with Drinks etc.

This would help first time cruisers to become addicted to Cruising and enhance their Brand Loyalty. The first level before Gold would not have as many benefits as Gold but enough to entice them to book a new cruise with the Loyalty Adviser and get a Next Cruise Certificate and OBC for doing so onbaord.

You would then become Gold on your second cruise without waiting until your next cruise after signing up on your first cruise.

You already are gold on your second cruise. The only thing below gold is someone who is on their first cruise. How can you have something below that?:confused:

Apparently, with the new and "improved" Sea Pass eCoupons, they've dropped the match play which saddens me.

If they add a new level between D+ and Pinnacle, I could easily see them limiting the CL to the new level and Pinnacle only, and send both D and D+ to the DL.

And there is the answer to... WHY? :D Too many boomers, too many point padding promotions, and whammo over crowding happens. Tell you what...I will avoid the lounges, make more room for the rest of you! ;)

I also read the thread and participate in it as well. Just hoping there wasn't confusion about the MLife benefits in which there is a sapphire level. When we were on the Rhapsody in August one of the questions at one of the parties was about the different benefit levels and the comparisons.

Sorry IMHO this makes zero sense...

Deb it wasn't that long ago and Mr. Goldstein did in fact state that there would be no more "new" tiers in the forseeable future and it was posted in one of his blogs....K.O.

I finally found it. from July 2012:

Hi Judi, our goal with the Pinnacle tier is to recognize a level of loyalty that is simply extraordinary. We are not intending to create the same links or incentives to get from Diamond Plus to Pinnacle as we are hoping to do between the other levels. We hope you will continue to cruise with us based on the great cruise experience we deliver as well as the Diamond Plus benefits you have earned.

Although things do change and it was from a little over a year ago, I tend to think he just might stick to his above statement.

We have sailed with several Pinnacle members over the years and they have certainly earned their distinction. Anyone that has reached 700 points has earned the upgrades and dinner with the captain(officer) and whatever else they get. Over the 30+ years that we have been C&A members the perks have been really nice and the changes, for the most part, have been positive. The things that have been implemented to refine the program are usually attacked but make sense when the big picture is considered. Cruise lines are not the only ones with loyalty programs and the parameters change from time to time as business dictates. As was previously noted, there are perks(levels)that kick in at 340/350 and again at 525. There is no need to invent more names to quantify them.

I love all the perks that come along with loyalty to Royal Caribbean. I think they are very generous. However, I would appreciate a "named" level for the higher C&A members that would acknowledge a D+ member who has 500+ cruise points from a D+ member with 175 cruise points. BIG difference. They wouldn't even need to add any more perks:) I've heard rumors about a level above Pinnacle:eek:

This is how I would envision an impactful update to levels:

* Initial status for signing up BEFORE the 1st cruise (encourages people to get into the C&A system ASAP (good for marketing).

* Gold at 5

* Platinum at 25

* Emerald at 50

* "Ruby" or another name at 75

* Start Diamond at 100. Then add a "+" for 200,300,400 (Up to 4 +'s).

* Next Pinnacle at 500. Then add a "+" for 600,700,800,900 (Up to 4 +'s).

* New named level at 1000. Then add "+" for 1250,1500,1750,2000+

* Another named level can be added if needed in the future.

Doing the +'s at the higher levels reminds me of ranks in the military and I think that would be pretty neat.

From an incentive perspective, having more levels gives people more of a reason to book more frequently. Whether we like to admit it or not, it is human nature to want to move up. It is why many marketing/rewards programs have levels in the first place. To get people to buy/use their product/service more. I personally want RCCL to be around for a long time and keep innovating the industry. Customer loyalty is the key to keeping marketing costs down and more C&A benefits coming. Go RCCL!

Too many tiers and too convoluted.

Much too reasonable and intelligent to generate any discussion.

Notice that immediately after your post, people went right back to complaining and rejiggering.

But I like it. :)

Again hearing "rumors" is just that a rumor. As Adam G. has stated there is no reason whatsoever as far as RCL is concerned to create another tier between D+ and Pinnacle...:rolleyes:
