I am curious , We have cruised almost all of The Conquest class ships , Valor , Freedom , Conquest and Glory ,booked on the Dream in January , What are the smaller ,older ships Example's Triumph , Elation , ect like after having only sailed the newer ,larger ships? Myself I think we would be bored , (less to do) . Have any of you done the smaller ships after ,cruising only on the larger ones?

We cruised the Ecstacy a year after Dream. It was fine because, hey I was on vacation and not in cold weather :)

We did miss some of the bigger ship stuff but overall we had a great cruise. No regrets.

Many of the Fantasy class ships have been updated with some new features, like waterworks. You won't get a Guy's burger and there aren't very many balconies, but you'll still have lots of activities, bars, a casino and a friendly staff. Unless the alternative dining venues are make or break for your cruise, I think you'll still have a good time.

We love the smaller ships and wish there were more of them. We pretty much went through the Fantasy class, but our favorite and best cruises were ships no longer around. They were 20,000 tons with 600 passengers. They were very intimate and everyone knew each other after a few days. They did not feel small at all.......many bars and lounges, lots to do. The newer larger ships are pretty overwhelming.

I just got off of the Ecstasy this past Saturday. This was one of my favorite cruises. The ship had everything I wanted: nice pool, serenity deck, waterworks, casino, great shows, great comedians, great food, excellent service, full size gym, clean cabins. Ecstasy even had the coffee shop, Mongolian Wok, rotisserie, deli, pizza, and the grill.

Some things that Ecstasy did not have was the big screen on Lido, no sushi, no steakhouse restaurant.

The best thing was there were almost no lines for anything on this 5 day cruise. On and off the ship was quick. No lines at the buffet and Your Time Dining. The rotisserie and Wok had a very small lines or no lines at all. Pizza and the deli never had a line.

I was concerned about going on a smaller ship but now I love them.

The Ecstasy is an amazing ship. Not too big. Not too small. Just right ;)

Fan here of the Fantasy class ships. I've sailed several of them. Moving up next year for my 6th cruise. Never been on one that wasn't spotless, and they are pretty easy to navigate IMO. Plus for me preferring oceanview cabins, there's plenty of them on the higher decks, which is where i like to be. The bigger ships have almost all ov cabins on decks one and two.

Fantasy class ;) , I just can't call them small. :D.

More personal , relaxing with so much respect given to the repeat customer.

My last few cruises have been on big, newer ships. I sailed the Breeze in September, and 5 weeks later sailed the Imagination. I thought sailing the big ships might have spoiled me, but honestly I loved being on a smaller ship again! As someone else said, the smaller ships feel "cozier." What I loved best was not having to take a long walk to get anywhere on the ship. It seemed to take forever to walk from point A to point B on the Breeze. I'll be on Sensation soon and look forward to being on a Fantasy class ship again.

I love the Elation (Fantasy Class)...great crew, everything is close..a very relaxing cruise vacation experience...fellow Cruisers are more apt to engage in conversation on the open decks because there is not that 'hectic pace" feel

Started off with their bigger ships, and still cruise them because we have to since the older smaller ships don't do 7 or 8 day itineraries (for the most part). I love the Fantasy class and would choose it everytime if they did comparable itineraries. I find it feels less crowded with far fewer lines, a much better feel for the sea, and just a more relaxed vibe. Go with an open mind you may enjoy it. I know I was very nervous our first time but wound up loving it much more than any if the ships we'd been on prior.

Fantasy class is old and nasty. The rooms are like college dorm rooms interiors are ancient. Bigger is better.

Have you actually been on a Fantasy class? They are not old and nasty. The Ecstasy was a favorite on this site for quite some time recently. It is nothing like a dorm room.

Bigger is not always better. Do I like the big ships? Oh yes...but I also like the Fantasy-sized ships.
