What is your favorite thing to do onboard?

Recommended Posts

During the day, I like grabbing a coffee or a beer and just wandering the ship. I check out the artwork, go into the promenade stores and browse, look at the books in the library, check out the solarium and pool deck, wander around the casino (and maybe lose a few bucks)...my wife usually sunbathes while I do all this.

At night, I'm a karaoke junkie. Love doing that and then hitting the English pub for a beer and grabbing a couple of slices of pizza.

Finally, at least once or twice a cruise, I go up on the pool deck late late at night (1-2am) and look up at the stars or out on the horizon for other cruise ships.

:D We love a daily swim in the solarium followed by a nice soak in the hot tub! A close second is eating breakfast on the balcony!

I don't have a single favorite, but I remember from my last Allure review that you are going on her soon. I had some favorites that apply specifically to that ship.

1. The Famous Roast beef sandwich as a hold over before a late dining time, they serve them up till around 5pm. Breakfast eaten here in the outdoor area on a nice morning.

2. Breakfast at Johnny Rocket's also sitting outside.

3. Walking the upper deck for the view on and off the ship.

4. Candy Beach

Sitting on the balcony at night with a glass of wine, listening to the ship slide through the water, watching the lights from an island out on the horizon and knowing that by the time I wake the next morning, I will be enjoying a beautiful port, or experiencing something new and exciting.... right after eating a wonderful breakfast that someone else prepared and cleaned up for me.

Hey stranger! Good to see you again! :)

Hmmmmm, I think it depends on which ship I am sailing. Overall I love to sit on the verandah and just take in the fresh salt air and beautiful view of the ocean.

Cindy!!!:D:D:D

Signed,

You Know Who!

P.S. My husband is still a spy and my son works at the White House!

Definitely the goosebumps I get while walking up the gangway and then my DH and I turning to each other and saying " honey I'm home" lol. We love getting up around 630 grabbing a quick breakfast in the WJ and laying in the solarium till around 7 at night! Nothing beats a frozen tropical drink and the newest James Patterson book while hearing the band play a lil bob Marley. Not to sound cheesey but that's why for us it's like no vacation on earth.

Love the anticipation leading up to our cruise. Everyone on a cruise is in such a good mood, makes for such a great vacation. I love exploring the ship, the meals, activities, music, drinks everywhere, pool and of course the casino. It is also a very romantic place.

I love

  • sitting on my balcony first thing in the morning.
  • walking through a quiet ship, with my first cup of coffee, and seeing nothing but ocean, while the ship starts to come alive.
  • waking up very early in the morning to catch a sunrise.
  • taking a good book up to the pool deck, finding a lounge chair with an ocean view. I then rotate between reading, and relaxing in the hot tub.
  • watching the sea go by, from my balcony, before dinner.
  • having dinner in the main dining room, then enjoying the nights scheduled entertainment. Every night is date night.
  • walking along an outside deck, with my sweetie, gazing at the stars
  • midnight snacks
  • standing on my deck, right before bed, and gazing at the stars
  • reading in bed, for about 1l2 hour, with the balcony door open, with the ocean sounds in the background.

Repeat the next day.

Also: no cell phones, no TV, no internet, no cooking, cleaning, or making the bed.

Love lots of things about cruising, but I have to say that the MOST exciting thing for us is eating lunch in the WJ on embarkation day! Sounds odd, I know, but it's got more to do with the excitement of the next few days that it has to to with the WJ itself, or lunch itself.

Just sitting there from Noon until 1pm until the cabin hallway doors are open - talking about the upcoming week. That is pure excitment and my favourite part of the cruise.

Once that is out of the way, I also love:

Sitting on the balcony, perhaps even taking a 20 min nap out there

Freedom Class cantilevered hot tubs in the Solarium. LOVE those!

Labadee - anything to do with Haiti, and I'm in.
