Just curious we will be headed out for our first Cruise on next Saturday at 4am. What is the #1 thing you have forgotten that you need the most. And hopefully nobody says passport..lol Thanks in advance :)

Passport, lol. Actually my brother did forget his. We're fanatics about checking, double, triple, quadruple checking for everything, don't think we have forgot anything yet

GO MIZZOU!!!!!!!

I always use a packing list...and as things go in luggage...mark the them off. When we get in car I make everyone show me their license and passport or birth certificate before we pull out.

Typical things to forget that you can get (but you will pay dearly for them)..suntan lotion, aloe, motion sickness pills, chargers for electronics. One thing I ALWAYS pack is a small surge protector due to only one outlet in a room on Carnival and multiple things to charge at night.... or when us ladies are getting ready for dinner and need a hair dryer and curling iron plugged up at same time!

Pads/tampons. They sell them on the ship, but limited brand, limited sizes, and mucho deniro. Now I always make sure to pack them, even if I'm not expecting anything that week. Course if youre a guy or past a certain age, this may not apply to you.

Many people forget their sense of humour and fun which is usually packed away with their tolerance and understanding. Anything else forgotten can be replaced onboard or in port:)

Yes, don't leave home without them, especially if you have a teenage daughter.

Cash... rather bring too much. We did not realize how many extra tips/gratuities we would have wanted to give on our first cruise. We thought we would use our credit card most of the time. So, we did not bring enough cash that first time. Now we bring plenty. On the last day, we give out about twenty $1 bills to maintenance and cleaning crew members too. You should see their surprised faces! It is a lot of fun :)

I make sure everyone checks and rechecks their bags for everything on our list, unfortunately I forget to check my own and forgot my birth control  So, 30 mins into our trip to the port I realize why I have this nagging feeling that I've forgotten something  I make DH turn around so we can go back and get it, of course he's mad. He refuses to drive through ATL at that point because of traffic, if you've ever hit rush hour traffic in ATL it's horrible, and so I end up driving us all the way to our port and we lost an hour of time due to my mishap. Thank goodness we we're driving down the day before or this could have caused major delays. Luckily we didn't hit that traffic, we got out of ATL just as the morning commute was getting started. Moral of the story, always check your meds!! And don't risk traveling to the port day of unless your 2hrs or less out. Lots of things can happen between leaving home and the port, like forgetting your BC :o

I have a huge list, and I pack EVERYTHING, filling a full FOUR suitcases for a one week cruise. Unfortunately I rely on my hubby to carry all the bags out to the taxi. That's where I went wrong. Should have watched every bag go out. Instead I was in the bathroom when hubby said: "Hurry up, the taxi's here, all the bags are in the trunk". So I just ran out the door, and off we went. 30 minutes later, we arrive at the airport, and the nice taxi driver unloads the bags. All THREE of them. The biggest suitcase, the one with almost all the clothing, was still sitting on the bed in the spare room, at home.. It doesn't matter what's on the list, if you leave the entire suitcase behind.

Sunscreen. Forgot it once and had to buy sunscreen from a shop at the port in Cozumel. It smelled like, well, there's no other way to put this: poop. So, since we didn't want to get sunburned, we, too, smelled like poop. We still laugh about it, but we always remember the sunscreen now!!!

Well there are always some that bring more than their share so if you forget yours and ask nicely, they might loan you some. I said might. :D

Aside from passport and credit cards, we figure anything else we forget can be purchased.

Not so!

Our DD 10 at the time, started her cycle for the very first time ever on our Alaska cruise. We were in Victoria BC port from 6:00pm-12:00am and at about 8:00pm her "friend" decided to visit. The ship shop was closed and we didn't want to wander off into the city at that time. I asked at guest services but they couldn't help, although they tried, they really did! :)

It was an interesting night!

Now I always pack them, no matter what.

If you go to the casino they will change large bills for smaller ones but they will only give you 10x $1 Bills on each visit.

What i do is change up a $20 into 2 x$5 and 10x $1,s, i do this throughout the cruise and it gives enough small notes for tips and for ashore in ports.:)

Curious...did you have time to go back and get it?
