Hi Everyone,

Has anyone disembarked on one Princess ship from Ft Lauderdale and embarked on another on the same day same port? We will be disembarking the Ruby I do not know the Pier# yet and embarking on the Coral do not know the pier# This will take place on Feb 10. Will we need a taxi?

Thank you for your help.

Current information shows you disembarking at terminal 2; embarking at terminal 21. This is, of course, subject to change.

Just take a taxi. No need to concern yourself with the location of the Coral as the taxi driver will know where to take you.

Enjoy your cruise...

On our last b2b there was a family waiting with us in our little holding area on turn around day. They were getting on the Royal and were being escorted over. Now Royal was right next to us, so I don't know if they would do it for every ship but it doesn't hurt to ask.

We're in the same situation on Jan. 18th. We'll be leaving the Emerald and embarking on the Ruby. A posting within the last 2 weeks said that if you let Passenger Services know about this while you're on the first cruise they will provide a shuttle to take you to the next ship. I'll let you know how this works out.

I also saw some postings that the cab drivers aren't too happy taking you such a short distance.

Lew,

Where did you get that information? On the Princess site it is telling me that it is not available yet. We embark on the Ruby Jan 27th doing a B2B

I do see on the Port Everglades site that she is usually in 2 but, that the schedule is only up to 7 days out from now.

Thanks

Yes, many people have done that.....in a lucky case, your ships will be beside each other, but it is more likely that you will have to take a taxi. The cab will likely have a $10 minimum fare.

No such minimum fare is legal for ANY taxi journey in Broward county. If any taxi driver at the port tries to pull that BS on you, immediately whip out pen and paper, write down his name and the taxi number and tell him to either turn on the meter or kiss his hack license goodbye. The owner of that cab will not be too happy to be stripped of the medallion allowing him to pick up at the port and airport.

(For the record, I am not unsympathetic to taxi drivers: most of them work 12 or more hours seven days a week and barely get by on tips--what's left of the metered fare after the owner's cut sometimes doesn't even pay for their gas. But ripping off the public is not the way to make their point about working conditions)

Interesting, because I have read the stickers inside cabs stating that rides inside Port Everglades have a minimum charge of $10.

January 27th is a Monday, so you will definitely be at pier 2. If it were a weekend, the Royal would get the spot. On December 22nd which was a Sunday, Royal had #2 and Ruby had #4.

That info is from the CruiseSchedule Port Everglades iOS app.

Our turn around is on the Ruby on Jan. 27. Is pier 2 in a location were we can walk

off the ship to Walgreens?

Thanks

When you clear immigration, walk out the door, cross over to the opposite side where the convention center is, and walk to your right. Be sure to have proper ID to get back through the gate. Your cruise card and intransit ticket will not be enough, so have photo ID too.

It's interesting because that app has none of the Princess ships at Pier 2 on Saturday, Jan 18. 3 Princess ships are in port and they have the Ruby at Terminal 4, The Crown at Terminal 21 and The Emerald at Terminal 19.

I thought Princess always used terminal 2.

Oooh - is there a website that states which ship will be docked at what pier? Wondering what pier we should tell the taxi to go to next Sunday at Pt. Everglades (for the Royal). Thank you!

The port's own schedule is the most reliable; it goes out about 7 days hence, so next Sunday will be up this Sunday.

However, you really won't need to tell the taxi anything. First of all, they'll probably know already. Second, there's a huge sign just inside the port entrance which lists where each ship is. And third, depending on where you're staying, you may have already sighted her from your hotel window (always so exciting to wake up and see your ship has come in).

Terminal 4 and terminal 2 are together in the same circle; next to each other. Doesn't matter which one the Ruby will use, since you will enter the same way and use the same parking garage. #2 is the nicer one, but #4 is slated to undergo major renovations this year.

I couldn`t find the information on the Princess website either. We are on B2B starting 18th Jan. I would like to know what the pier number will be for Emerald Princess on 28th January as we are being met by friends and taken around for the day.

Thanks Pia. We have only sailed out of terminal 2 out of Fort lauderdale and I've never paid attention to anything else there.

I have had issues with a cab not willing to take my fare even after everyone was clear out of the area...

Island (19, I think) and emerald (2) were only ships in port this morning and they were nowhere near each other when I was flying over them.

Just like the taxi drivers mentioned above, they can use the signs when they enter the port that will point to where each ship is doicked.
