VIFP Club - special offers just for you?

Recommended Posts

I have been on 26 Carnival cruises and am a VIFP member. I was just curious ... have any of you received a "special offer just for you" when you click on the "my offers" link? Every time I look, it only says, Sorry, there are no special offers for you at this time. I look every day.... anyone??

No special offers for us. We cruise 1-2 times per year and not always with Carnival. I am happy to see others get a free cruise. I think it's awesome! AND it keeps me going back to the Carnival site frequently checking to see if I have any special offers.

Besides the two category upgrade, this is what is showing under My Offers:

VIFP Club Member Exclusive Offer

Up to $575 off Fun Select rates per stateroom plus up to $40 Arcade onboard credit per stateroom

Savings off Fun Select rates up to $300 per stateroom on 2-5 day sailings and up to $575 per stateroom on 6 day and greater sailings. Savings may vary by ship, stateroom category and sail date. Category restrictions and exclusions apply. Onboard credit offer is non-transferable and is provided as a non-refundable onboard credit to your Sail & Sign account of up to $30 per stateroom on 2-5 day sailings and up to $40 per stateroom on 6+ day sailings. Onboard credit is applicable for Arcade purchases only and cannot be used prior to sailing. Onboard credit may not be applied to cruise fare or Taxes, Fees and Port Expenses. Carnival reserves the right to offer promotional cruise fares that require a minimum occupancy requirement of 3 Guests per cabin. When the booked cruise fare is contingent to a minimum occupancy requirement per cabin, cancellation of one or more guests in a cabin may cause a re-adjustment of the guests booked cruise fare according to the prevailing and eligible rate. Failure to make timely final payment in full of the recalculated fares for all remaining guests in a cabin will result in automatic cancellation of the reservation for the entire cabin. A valid and qualifying VIFP Club Member number is required to book this offer. Offer is capacity controlled and it is not applicable on Carnival Australia sailings. Offer is applicable on sailings between 5/15/14 - 11/30/14.

Under the terms and conditions of your special offer they list all the offers that the Carnival Players Club and Carnival are offering. Currently there are 5 different free cabin offers:

Free Balcony Stateroom (CC1) book by 6/26/14 sail between 5/6/14-1/31/15.

Free Oceanview Stateroom (CCF) book by 6/26/14 sail between 5/6/14-1/31/15.

Free Stateroom & $200 Casino Cash (CC2) book by 6/26/14 sail between 5/6/14-1/31/15.

Free Interior Stateroom (CC3) book by 6/26/14 sail between 5/6/14-1/31/15.

Free Interior Cabin on Canival Imagination or Carnival Inspiration (PTW) book by 6/26/14 sail between 5/6/14-1/31/15.

All of these offers have "Carnival Players Club reserves the right to change or cancel this promotion at any time."

So, it appears that it is the Players Club that is offering all of the free cabins. I am happy for all who get one!

I get the same thing and have never gotten any special offers. They must know they have us hooked so they don't need to offer us anything!

cruzn buckeye,

I suspect that like us you pretty much always have a cruise booked so there's no need to entice us?

Last year Bryson, our oldest son, wasn't booked with us for the first time in over a decade and he received a free casino offer earlier this year and again last week received a reduced price with free chips offer along with my wife Karen. Bryson also had a VIFP offer two months ago with some very attractive prices, but he's a full time college student now and is working this summer. :p

Based on our experiences I'd say they only entice those who aren't already booked though I have read of exceptions.

Right now I'm not booked on a cruise, but I have been looking at three different cruises and our PVP has called several times to get us booked so I don't expect any VIFP offers for me, but I do check from time to time.

* There are no new Special Offers at this time.

We update them frequently - so please check back for offers just for you.

That message gets old quick doesn't it? :o

Just noticed that even though I don't have a cruise booked my countdown is 307 days to cruising! I've done enough practice bookings that they know when I'm going next!

Mine says the same thing. I have been on 23 Carnival cruises. They don't even send me the casino offers anymore. I used to get those regularly. As soon as I booked my last casino rate, they stopped. I have come to the conclusion that as long as I have a cruise booked, they won't send me an offer.

We received a Casino offer 2 or 3 years ago when my SO lost quite a bit (for us) in the casino but none since.

I tried to get Carnival to price match our November sailing to a very similar offer we saw yesterday. It was a VIFP member exclusive rate, after a conversation with a very rude guest relations agent we were basically told that we were not eligible for said rate even though we could very clearly see it for our date and ship when logged in. She refused to accept any screen shots that we had because "we could easily manipulate them to our benefit". She was very nasty about the whole thing. We are severely agitated with Carnival and our upcoming 3rd cruise with them is looking like it will be our last farewell to them.

We received the 575.00 off and $40.00 Arcade credit as well.

We already have 4 cruises booked with MSC so we won't be taking advantage of this offer though.

Off the subject and I am not trying to hijack the thread;.....what do you think of MSC? I wish you would do an entire thread on that. I would love to read what you think.

thanks.

We have one booked on Celebrity in Oct. We sail on Carnival this month. I now have a PVP that I like a lot. So I don't know. If Celebrity blows me off the ship in awe....if not.....

Amber,,,I'll keep this short and sweet since this is a Carnival board. We love everything about MSC. We found the service, food and especially the entertainment incredible. Here's a sample of their Michael Jackson tribute show:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DyIsC3PDok0&feature=youtu.be

But, what drew us to MSC besides their low fares, service, food, and entertainment was their frequent cruiser club.

The membership perks are some of the best, especially the fare discounts once you sail once, up to 20% off your total cruise rate once you hit their Black Level tier.

Thanks for the information.

I was thinking of a MSC sails Carnival.thread .comparison. I see them a lot between RCI and Carnival. Princess and Carnival and NCL and Carnival.

I have never seen a thread comparing MSC to Carnival. If you ever do a thread like that, I would love to read it. Thank you again.
