IPlayWithString Posted July 29, 2014 #1 Share Posted July 29, 2014 Finally tried it last cruise. Was NOT impressed...and I usually love anything chocolate. What is it about this particular dessert that makes people go ga-ga? Because I don't get it. It was ok..but nothing to write home about (as my mamaw would say). Man of Many Hats Posted July 29, 2014 #2 Share Posted July 29, 2014 I have wondered the same thing. Wife and I have tried it, I didn't like it but then I'm not much into chocolate. Wife tried it (and she does like chocolate) and she wouldn't waste the time and calories to have it again.
TPFKAH Posted July 29, 2014 #3 Share Posted July 29, 2014 You're not alone. I have concluded those that like it don't know where a good bake shop exists in their town.

MsTabbyKats Posted July 29, 2014 #7 Share Posted July 29, 2014 Ditto....and I'm a chocoholic. It was "okay"...but if I had to choose between that and the chocolate muffins in the breakfast buffet...those muffins win!
kylenyc Posted July 29, 2014 #8 Share Posted July 29, 2014 (edited) The chocolate melting cake was okay. However, I'm a big fan of the Chocolate Lava Cake from Dominos pizza. So anything else is downhill :p Edited July 29, 2014 by kylenyc
SMSACE6 Posted July 29, 2014 #9 Share Posted July 29, 2014 I tried it once, but found it too sweet. I would not order it again.
HawkIVette Posted July 29, 2014 #10 Share Posted July 29, 2014 (edited) Ok, That's it. 9 (counting myself that don't like it) to a BIG FAT ZERO. I think we need to get a campaign going with Carnival to ban all Chocolate Melting Cake. Maybe they can just add it to the NO Smoking Ban. Com'on, Who's with me! SadieN Posted July 29, 2014 #15 Share Posted July 29, 2014 Only order it once a cruise, maybe. When I do get it I'll also order a fruit plate. Love dipping the fruit into the chocolate. Much better than the Chocolate Buffet.
Velvetwater Posted July 29, 2014 #16 Share Posted July 29, 2014 As someone who isn't big on chocolate puddings it was just ok...I actually preferred things like the pecan and pumpkin pie (SHOCK). Hubby loves it. Im guessing people haven't eaten chocolate fondant before...which is what it really is. Carnival didn't come up with anything new or different. It would be great if they added mint or orange to it...maybe even doing a white chocolate one. http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/meltedchocolatefonda_77527

HawkIVette Posted July 29, 2014 #23 Share Posted July 29, 2014 New Headline: Carnival bans Warm Melting Cake from all Balconies!!! WOO HOO! Yes, I like. I just can't stand it when I am sitting on my balcony and I smell Chocolate Melting Cake coming from the cabin next door. Then, It happens. Next thing, some melted chocolate oozes from under the divide and gets all sticky on my side of the balcony. Yuk!
Name Of The Game Posted July 29, 2014 #24 Share Posted July 29, 2014 I love chocolate and it was too RICH for me. Two bites was enough and then I needed a glass of cold milk.
