tpredmore Posted November 30, 2014 #1 Share Posted November 30, 2014 Can anyone recommend a good restaurant to eat at the night before we depart on our cruise? We are staying at the Radisson, so someplace nearby would be preferred.
Kamloops50 Posted November 30, 2014 #2 Share Posted November 30, 2014 Fish Lips especially when the cruise ships are leaving port.

Capt_BJ Posted December 1, 2014 #6 Share Posted December 1, 2014 (edited) Kelsey's Restaurant & Pizzeria (above average family friendly pizza / Italian near the port; on 1A .. walking is easy) http://kelseyscanaveral.com/ Fishlips http://fishlipswaterfront.com/ Rusty's Seafood and Oyster Bar http://www.rustysseafood.com/ Grills Seafood (Grills/Rustys/Fishlips .. the portside trilogy ... I prefer Grills) http://www.grillsseafood.com/newly-r...ort-canaveral/ Millikans is just a tad west of the trilogy, on the same road Walking to the places in the port is not recommended esp' at night as the traffic from the west on 1A is moving FAST, and the walk north of 1A is not well lit ... it is an industrial area. skipp Posted December 2, 2014 #7 Share Posted December 2, 2014 Grills is a #1 favorite and is 5 minutes from the Radisson. Tiki bar, live bands, good food and right on the water.
Straughn Posted December 2, 2014 #8 Share Posted December 2, 2014 Is there parking at the restaurants or should we cab it? We, too, will be staying at the Radisson and will have our car. Thanks.
Capt_BJ Posted December 2, 2014 #9 Share Posted December 2, 2014 there's parking .. not usually a problem but be aware that the construction for the new terminal is immediately next to GRILLS so there can be some blocked areas ... but little traffic in this area after 6pm

Capt_BJ Posted December 2, 2014 #11 Share Posted December 2, 2014 it looks like they have sunk all the pilings and forms at that end ... but there are still two big cranes parked there! http://webcampub.multivista.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=aPublicWebcam.embed&WebcamPublicEmbedUID=873D8514-F022-46B4-94F1-2FDB6070F759&width=&height

Also, would you recommend any restaurant in the Melbourne/Viera area? Edited December 3, 2014 by clarea
Capt_BJ Posted December 3, 2014 #16 Share Posted December 3, 2014 (edited) Kelsey's 8699 Astronaut ... next to Radisson ... http://kelseyscanaveral.com/ (several locations around the area but they don't share a web site ...) down Viera way our new favorite is Cabanna Shores http://cabanashorestikibar.com/ right on US-1 just a lil bit south of the Pineda Causeway (SR-404) it looks like a biker hangout because it sits in front of a bike shop but it is very family oriented, very clean and very friendly. Sadly they are on the west side of US-1 and so the view is across the highway to the river but the food quality more than makes up for that. (it is about a mile south of Grills new riverside location). We average once a week . . . I like the Mahi tacos and spousal unit is partial to the bacon BBQ burger. Rare John&LaLa Posted December 3, 2014 #17 Share Posted December 3, 2014 the best food is actually Kellsey's I've stopped going to Grills their food has dropped to FishLips standards Went to Kelsey's for lunch a couple weeks ago. Small salad was huge, sub was good. They were opening a new venue next door, is it open yet? katiel53 Posted December 4, 2014 #18 Share Posted December 4, 2014 Grills and Fishlips are the two most recommended. Both are excellent and you can see the ships that sail from Pt Canaveral if you are there around 4PM or so.
BND Posted December 5, 2014 #19 Share Posted December 5, 2014 (edited) We always stay at the Radisson and walk to Kelsey's for dinner. It's very reasonably priced decent Italian (not the best ever, but good). It's also so easy to just walk over. We'll be doing the same in Feb before our cruise on Sushine. I'm allergic to shrimp so I avoid all seafood, except some fish and DH doesn't like seafood, so we don't bother with any place that serves mainly that. We just happened to try Kelsey's before our first cruise in 2005 and have been going back ever since when we cruise out of PC. GTO-Girl Posted December 8, 2014 #21 Share Posted December 8, 2014 If you want a good full breakfast go to Zacharys on the other side of the Radisson. Family owned, reasonably priced and so good! Soooooo much than the Radisson breakfast buffet and much cheaper!!!
Capt_BJ Posted December 8, 2014 #22 Share Posted December 8, 2014 Grills does breakfast with a nice port view you probably won't find fish and grits any place else around here . . .

Clarea Posted December 28, 2014 #24 Share Posted December 28, 2014 Is it posibe to walk to Grills from the Radisson? Yes, possible, but I'd rather not. You're looking at a bit more than a mile walk, maybe 25 minutes.
