Has Fort Lauderdale always had that large paddle wheel boat that just went by? First time I have seen it.

Yes. It's the Jungle Queen. It had Santa, a sled, and 9 tiny reindeer on top at Christmas.

 

She goes out a few times a day, but not normally when you'd be watching sail away.

 

The boat sails out of the Bahia Mar marina, just to the north of Hyatt Pier 66.
