Any suggestions/preferences on hotel at FLL.

We are currently looking at convenient hotels near the cruiseport for pre-cruise.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Close to the port consider The Pillars, with a FL airport collection and port drop

If you do not mind a taxi ride then take a look at Hilton Diplomat in Hollywood

Embassy suites is nicely located, nice pools, great breakfast but looking kind of dated and expensive.

Last cruise we stayed at the Extended Stay. Clean newer rooms, great location, no pool, small breakfast and much cheaper.

Both have inexpensive shuttles to the port.

Next trip we will stop at the Extended Stay again.

Where is this Extended stay located? Does it offer shuttle from airport?

We usually stay at the Embassy Suites, especially if we get a good flight deal with EZ Air and book everything together. All we have to do is get to our home airport and not worry about anything after that. I love stepping off the plane and seeing the Princess rep waiting for us :)

Stayed at Embassy Suites a couple of weeks ago and really enjoyed it. Was considering the Hyatt but wife said after staying at the Embassy to: "Quit screwing around trying different hotels. Book the Embassy Suites". E'nuff said.

Our next cruise in Nov coincides with the boat show and the Embassy is already sold out as well as most hotels near the port.

BTW, had a great dinner at Kelley's Landing about two blocks away. We did walk by the Extended Stay and it looked nice but the tripadviser ratings are only average.

Quite frankly, Pam in CA knows what she's talking about so go with either the Hyatt or Embassy Suites.

For the budget minded... I liked the Ramada Inn & Suites Airport Cruiseport...offers free breakfast, free shuttle from airport to hotel and free shuttle from hotel to cruiseport (and free wifi throughout hotel). Nothing fancy..hotel shows a bit wear and tear but staff is very nice and the room was very clean and comfortable. Perfect for a one night stay and close to the port.

Next week, I am trying the Rodeway Inn Airport Cruiseport and they offer exactly the same as the above as far a freebies go.

Stayed at the Rodeway a few years ago. Would not recommend as it is out of the way/not near anything. Our rooms (3) were not clean - (i.e. underwear hanging on the back of the bathroom door, used washcloth in tub, etc.). And when we did a Tripadvisor review, management called and "asked" us to revise it.

Perhaps it has changed...

Another Embassy Suites voter here.:):)

The free breakfast is very good. You get a great start to your day for starting your cruise. :D

Also, E/S does have a shuttle to the port. It is $8.00pp and after

we check in, we go right to the Concierge and reserve for the time we want to leave for the Port. You can charge the cost to your room or pay the driver.

I saw those same ratings and was hesitant about booking a room. Luckily we found nothing to complain about and we saved around $100 we could use on board!
