auntjoy036 Posted April 29, 2015 #1 Share Posted April 29, 2015 My "swimsuit" is unconventional. I wear either knee or capri length solid color bottoms made of stretch fabric and a relaxed fit swim tee with a bra underneath. Since my swimsuit is so covered up, do I need an additional cover up dress or robe to go to the Lido or on deck grill or (as long as I am not wet from the pool) is my swimsuit sufficiently modest? Thanks. Vicki
OCruisers Posted April 29, 2015 #2 Share Posted April 29, 2015 Going inside to a/c can be chilly so some sort of extra cover up is good to have. ;) LuLu
092306 Posted April 29, 2015 #3 Share Posted April 29, 2015 No. What you are describing--bra with swim shirt over it is to me same as bra with t shirt over it so I wouldn't wear a cover-up. Sounds fine to me.
ger_77 Posted April 29, 2015 #4 Share Posted April 29, 2015 As long as you're not dripping water, you should be fine. LOL Oh, and something for your feet, please. Smooth Sailing! :) :) :)
cb at sea Posted April 29, 2015 #5 Share Posted April 29, 2015 No...you will not need to cover up any more than you already will be!!! You simply can go into the buffet if you're wet!!!
Tiggertastic Posted April 29, 2015 #6 Share Posted April 29, 2015 Just the same as wearing gym gear, you will be fine
TravelinGert Posted July 16, 2015 #7 Share Posted July 16, 2015 I don't see that you'd particularly need to cover anything further up. If you tend to get chilly coming in from the pool, you might like something light just to ward off chills.
Rare Kellie in Texas Posted May 29, 2017 #8 Share Posted May 29, 2017 Glad to find this old thread; it answers the exact question I had. Just bought my first swim shirt; it's long, past hip length, and it has black shorts, they look like bicycle shorts. Wearing an old bra underneath it. I think I'm just going to wear some capris over the bike shorts and not worry about anything else on top. Going to the Caribbean so it's gonna be too hot for an extra layer. cb at sea Posted May 29, 2017 #9 Share Posted May 29, 2017 They won't let you in the buffet (or other venues) if your tummy or upper thighs are showing. That's why a cover up might be needed.
Floridiana Posted May 29, 2017 #10 Share Posted May 29, 2017 It was mentioned before: You sound sufficiently covered up. It's then a matter of tolerating air conditioned spaces in a wet outfit. Also, you can't go into the buffet when you are wet and you can't sit down in the buffet chairs with your wet bottom. On the lines we have cruised, they always had food on the pool deck for people in bathing suits.
slidergirl Posted May 29, 2017 #11 Share Posted May 29, 2017 Sounds like you will fine. If you want, take a generic T-shirt that you can just toss on if you go to the buffet. You'll look like many others in workout clothes! Otherwise, just go with what you have - enjoy your cruise!!
OCruisers Posted May 29, 2017 #12 Share Posted May 29, 2017 No problem with what you're wearing to eat in the buffet . :D Just keep in mind that it's often chilly inside and you may enjoy having a light weight jacket. ;)
