tmilak Posted December 8, 2016 #701 Share Posted December 8, 2016 I agree with the last post. I booked a cabana and found out we are only there from 7-1. At $100 per hour I will go and buy my kids something nice on board instead.

MrTexTJ Posted December 10, 2016 #703 Share Posted December 10, 2016 We just got back a week ago and were on HC Dec 1st. We have been to Belize City many times so this was something different. We really didn't know what to expect, being confined to the island other than taking NCL excursions. On previous cruises, we always went on self planned excursions, mostly for snorkeling. Well I must admit we are all extremely pleased with the whole island experience. I doubt there is any island resort in the Caribbean and possibly the Bahamas that is more beautiful. The landscaping is amazing with some plants already reaching maturity. The Belizean people running it are very well trained and appear dedicated to ensure guest's needs are met. The food and beverage prices were reasonable compared to mainland Belizean tourist bars and restaurants. If anyone has any specific questions, I may be able to answer them and possibly have a photo to show if helpful. I'll will post a complete trip report with photos and video for those who are interested within the next day or two. I'm not sure how to embed photos here so I will probably leave a link to another blog site.

We've rented a few for an hour and were wondering if we can use them off the main, crescent-shaped beach?

We've rented a few for an hour and were wondering if we can use them off the main, crescent-shaped beach? You pick them up and the end of a long lagoon that runs behind the Flight House. You don't take them out on the beach....but ride them up and down the lagoon.

Thanks for posting these. I think we will probably order from Landshark since one in our party does not eat meat, but will eat seafood. I think the prices are very reasonable, including the bottle of wine prices. I agree with the champagne prices -- that might be something we take advantage of during our visit! I also ordered the nachos I'm from TX and like hot but their jalapeños were on fire! Villa next to us had the Moët flowing and then I saw why!! Cheaper than drinks! TVLady3 Posted December 11, 2016 #713 Share Posted December 11, 2016 Just curious, the recent cruises there still have abbreviated port times? Or have they extended to full day visits now/QUOTE] It really depends on which ship you are sailing on.` We were there last week on the Getaway and were there 8-5. The Jade is only there from 7-1. Thank you Eileen for posting the Pool Cabanas Pics, after seeing these up close I went into my Escape booking and ordered one for our cruise. The Escape is listed as 8am-5pm for our cruise in August. Merry Christmas to me!!! :)
Rare LAFFNVEGAS Posted December 11, 2016 #714 Share Posted December 11, 2016  WOW Thanks so much for these pictures, we are booked for 3rd week in March and cannot wait. These pictures are amazing. Yes I agree about those Champagne prices and really hope they do not go up. I think I will be ordering bottle of Moet and bottle of Veuve :D Question, I may have missed this but can we use on NCL Sign and Sail Card? Then I assume the Butler for the Cabana brings these for us. Of course we will tip him or her well :) Also one other question I know several mentioned there is a liquor store and I assume there are soda's sold there. I wonder if by chance they have Dr. Pepper. Rare LAFFNVEGAS Posted December 11, 2016 #716 Share Posted December 11, 2016 Am I missing something, everyone is excited for $50 bottles of champagne.... Wine and beer seem much better at $4 each??? Unfortunately some of us just do not drink Barefoot Wine that has enough sulfates to cause people that are allergic like myself to break out in hives and throat to close up. The Moet Brut is actually a very good Champagne/Sparkling and at $50 a bottle is pretty darn cheap. Usually about 4 to 5 glasses per bottle. Which makes it about $10 per glass by the bottle. This is a Wine list pricing for NCL, not sure how current, it could be higher priced now But the Moet Brut is $79.00 by the bottle. Veuve on the ship is $89.00 per bottle, so $70 is a pretty good deal as well. The better the Wine or sparkling the lower the sulfates which are extremely harmful and just plain not good for you. For myself if I am going to drink, I am going to enjoy the good stuff ;) http://www.pdf.ncl.eu/already_booked/gift_packages/gift_packages/ncl-wine-list.pdf
Sand and Seas Posted December 12, 2016 #717 Share Posted December 12, 2016 (edited) The menu picture doesn't show the cost of the sodas? Since we see they have Coke products, some people will want to know:o I'm super excited to visit HC in March. Love a port where you can walk off the ship and are right there at a nice beach. Here is a link to my Harvest Caye Google Docs that includes the Land Shark as well as Manatee Bar & Grill menus. Soft drinks (Coke, Sprite, Fanta, Tonic) are $2.00 per can. My signature has a link to the Harvest Caye video slideshow on YouTube. We didn't have a cabana, so those posting pictures of them are nice since I only took outside shots. Also, I don't remember seeing bottles of soda in the liquor store, but we didn't walk through to the back end which were colognes and perfumes. Its not even that I'm cheap but champagne tends to give me migraines...so does being in the sun all day...the two together? potentially lethal...much safer and easier on the budget if I just stick to local beer! Well, that menu shows Belikin on tap at 5 clams per. Which is criminal if it's less than a 22oz cup.

I tried to add a photo as an attachment and it limits the photo size where the quality is gone. Also we went to the liquor store, and the prices were lower than the ship. I bought a liter of Patron Reposado for $35 and no tax. The ship wanted $43 for 750 ml. We also had a few 16 oz bottles of soda for $2 each. That's less than a vending machine- lol We were pleased with the food prices and also had the nachos.

Do you have the CruiseCritic app? That seems to work best, and allows for large images. Unrelated - I had to fire up the snowblower this morning. Maybe we should meet up at Maya Chan later in the week. Sigh. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
