Is It Possible To Win?

 Share

Recommended Posts

Yes its possible to win. When i go to the casino, I play with an open mind, and acceptable to loosing all that i have budgeted for the games.

On the first afternoon, I played the machines, playing only 25p per game, and i won over USD 400. On that same night, I played the same game again winning another USD 100 with only 25p.

And like what the other poster said, I never really entered the Casino after that, except to watch people play.

On our recent cruise, someone actually won the USD 20K jackpot (the one that you had to match the numbers too) The lady obviously shocked was help out her husband who told her to calm down.

Do you think they increase the chances on the first night of the cruise so people will keep coming back knowing they could win some money?

We enjoy slots at sea and at land based casinos. It is strictly a form of entertainment. Casinos at sea are generally "tighter" than their land based counterparts. Go with the goal of having fun and you won't be disappointment. But, whatever you budget for the casino, plan to lose it all. Don't ever walk into a casino with the hope or expectation of paying for you next cruise!

If you go in the casino with a negative attitude, I wouldn't bother putting any money in a slot machine or playing tables.

For us fibbes and liars that say we never lose, of course we do, we just don't publish it:p

Now you can win, and people do win, slots are looser on 1st night and last night on ships, contrary to what others have posted.

15 years of RC casino's:)

It is being at the right machine at the right time and with slots 100% pure luck.

If Lady Luck is around you will win.

Positive thinking, but agree what you go in with prepare to lose.

And I have paid for many future cruises from previous cruises.

For us CR members we book through CR, apply our win/loss to future cruise and get huge discounted rates.

But we never always win;)

Next time you buy a lottery ticket, just throw it in the trash as you will never win:D

I would suggest learning video poker. The odds are controlled by the payouts for various hands. Although ship video poker has poorer odds than in Vegas, they still beat the slots.

If you play the simple Jacks or better video poker on a ship, the payback will be about 95%, not great, but significantly better than the slots.

I gambled each night of our seven night cruise (craps) - as I was keeping track for a review, I also kept track of gambling results - i finished up five nights, even one and down one, for a sum total of plus $800 or so.

So can I actually walk out of the casino a winner? We will be on the Navigator in a few weeks and I'm setting aside $100 for the casino. I don't play and last few cruises didn't even walk through casino since my husband hates them but this time I'm going by myself. Thinking of slots, don't know what else to play. I'm looking for any advice and tips and yes, I'm prepared to stop and walk away:)

Our first experience was on Voyager, not being gamblers, relying on the old adage if you cant afford to lose then don't gamble, we went into the casino picked up two empty buckets, one for our pot and the other for our winnings.

We cash up $50 thats our limit to lose.

Go to a machine that states $1 to play. Place our $50 bucket handy and glance on the floor beneath the machine and there is a single dollar bill lying there.

Pick it up place it into the machine and get 2 cherries, great a win!

Put the winnings in the empty win bucket.

Place another $ in the machine press the button and all hell seems to break loose.

Have I broken the machine? No I have just emptied it out and consequently the alarms and lights were flashing. The attendant came over and escorted us to the cashier cage and paid us out. We cashed up walked out and only go back to attempt to win a t shirt not another key ring on our free pulls.

So in answer to your question yes you can win.

Good story but you left off the ending. How much ?

This question can be answered with mathematical certainty when it comes to slots.

In the short term, yes, it's possible to walk away from a single session--or even multiple sessions over an entire cruise--with more money than you started. Possibly even substantially more.

Over the long term, no, you will lose money on slots.

Even the best paying machines keep some out of every dollar bet, on average, and cruise ship slots are among the worst paying machines out there. If you find one paying out anything close to 90 cents on every dollar bet you should stay there and lose that 10 cents on every dollar because chances are every other machine on the ship is going to take more.

3 card poker has been very good to me ..... But you can lose 200 buck in 10 minutes .....so be warned

We like 3 card. Do you play the 4 bet version. Laura plays $30 a hand, and I play $20. But I always play blind. Slows the game down a bit. ;)

You simply can't predict the outcome.

I play slots, 3 card, UTH, roulette. Mr Wolf plays UTH and other table games when UTH kicks his butt. Our results are all over the place - sometimes we lose our stake, sometimes break even, sometimes win a little, sometimes win enough to pay for our cruise and then some. Consider it Monopoly money the minute you walk in the door.

I do agree that the machines seem looser on the 1st and last nights.

So I just walk in with cash? Will they load that cash onto my sea pass (that could be dangerous) or will I get another card? Yes, I'm sure most of you are shaking your heads at how quickly this amateur will lose her money. Next stop will be the bar!

The slot machines take cash, and the cashier will give you cash for any winnings. (When you cash out on a machine, you will get a ticket that you take to the cashier window to redeem.) You don't need a card (but you can use your Seapass card at the machines to identify yourself, if you want to earn casino points).

You load cash into the machines or buy chips with cash. If you are using a machine and want to cash out, you get the machine to print a cash out ticket, which you can either take to the cashier or stick in another machine.

With the current technology the casinos do not have the ability to change the odds on the slot machines. They do not have to set the slots on the first night, last night, after dinner, before dinner or any combination thereof, they will always win. The Random Number Generator is set at the factory at the specs that the cruise line or owner of the machine wishes and not changed for the lifetime of the machines. According to Simply Slot Magazine this is the #1 myth of slot machines. All this info is readily available on the internet in numerous independent locations, just look up Random Number Generator.

Don, you are correct to a point. However, there are technicians who travel to land based casinos and change the RNG setting on the machines. Even though it is indeed set at the factory, it can be changed by a trained IT technician. The RNG is NOT set for life. I know of someone who does this exact job on land.

Not saying that they do it - I enjoy the "myth" of 1st and last day. (mainly because it has happened that way for me more often than not.)

My very first cruise was on Liberty of the Seas about 3 years ago. The boat just came back from Europe. There were 6 machines of Deal or No Deal with a progressive of $1840. Don't know why that number but 4 of them had that max progressive. I played other slots and loss about $400. I was so sad so I went looking for my sister who happened to be playing those machines. I had about 40 bucks left and said to my sis if I don't hit this progressive then I'll never step foot on this ship again! Stuck in my whole 40 and played the max line $2.50. First hit I won the progressive $1840. We were screaming SO LOUD. The slot attendant comes by to congratulate us and then he says this is the first time it hit the progressive in 8 months. Can you imagine how much money people have put in those machines in 8 months? So I gave my sis $500 bucks for being my lucky charm. She puts in one of the hundred and she hit her $1840. We screamed again LOUDER!

My sis gave me back my $500 and we left the casino grinning and giggling like 5 year olds. Then we started thinking....these machines are just waiting to be hit again. We talked ourselves in "investing" a few bucks left the last night of the cruise. My sister put back in one machine $800 and stop. I was back and forth with my original $100.....and boom. I hit another $1840. Gave my sis back what she lost and then played her machine since it has not hit anything. And yes boom. I hit $1840.

To make this long story end. We booked again Liberty 6 months later and lost our butts off playing the same machines. And have been on a losing streak 3 times more. So YES it's possible to win but it's MORE possible to lose what you won and more.

I'm always optimistic LOL Last year I put $100 in quarter slots on Freedom, and it was gone in 10 minutes. That was it...not much fun to just see the money disappear. The most I've ever won was $800 on a NCL cruise. I've never left a RCL ship as a winner, but other people seem to do well. At least, the machines are always busy at night so I'm assuming people win!

Never figured you for a slot player

Sometimes John, if the felt is not going well, I like to keep an eye on the missus to see how many Benjamin's she's dropping in the slots.

That way we hopefully don't give too much of the casino's money back to them;)

Once the new program is fully up and running, I will go back to hitting the tables like I love to do:)

We can pretty much get a free cruise with both of us playing slots at the same time as 4800pts is now the amount needed for the freebie.

More transparent and with sea pass card tracking our play better than a human tracking table play it is an easy win for us:D

Mythbusters

Last cruise 1st night

$2881.00 JACKPOT

Last cruise 7th night

$2500 JACKPOT

RC is not governed by any gaming commission, like OLGC for example

They can set RNG's to any % they please.

I actually put this to the test once, same machine all 7 days and dropped the same amount every day.

Anything factory set, can also be customized:D

I have a few more screen dumps of Day 1 and Day 7 winnings

It works for us, and I like the myth very much, has done us pretty good for 15 years.

I have the W2g forms to prove it as well, now having to pay tax on winning over $1199.99

Happy Days!
