Just watching photos and video of the new AIDA PRIMA (also Carnival Group).

Completely different from anything I have ever seen before!

This ship is on her maiden voyage, built in Japan and cruising on through ports to eventually Hamburg.

What a stunning ship. Modern and I hate to say it, it make KONINGSDAM look old.

They have made Lanai cabins that have taken that to heights that I would not even thought about. Look at the video!

Promenade decks, bars, restaurants... all look like FUN.

I notice at the TV screens in the standard cabins. Flat screen with couch facing the screen... and can be movable and can be swivel to be able in other parts of the cabin. This is what I was trying to explain a few days ago.

Anyhow, well worth looking at her.

That's an ugly ship IMO.

Agree 100%. Looks like a floating building. Not classy like HAL ships (and that includes the K-Dam).

Come on. No new ships are pretty anymore.. compared to the old days. :)

Have you look at all of the photos of the features?

The stern is certainly better and with good open decks with promenade areas and some fantastic places for sitting.

The graffiti on the side? Well, we can all do without that.

I have looked at the and the deck plans. I still think it's not a pretty ship. It looks like a modern apartment block, and I don't really think they're all that pretty on land with trees and parks around them.

The graffiti is a paint job, but it's a seriously distracting paint job.

I agree it looks like a modern apartment block. KONINGSDAM looks the same.

The graffiti... well at least it is all the same on their fleet. Like P&O.... awful... all throughout the fleet. NCL is worse because every ship is different!

Looks like a container ship.

Hey... don't knock container ships.

My old ship EUROLINER was more beautiful than any passenger ship today and our service speed was 28 knots! 5 days UK to New York. Same as QE2.

The internet generation needs to be entertained from the moment they wake to the moment they fall asleep. These ships are built for that. I'm still working and when I get away on vacation, the last thing I need is electronics. However, to each his own.

(bold is mine) I know what you mean. There was a story on the news last night that some movie theaters are going to allow texting during the movie, because it seems that "millenials" cannot survive for 2 hours without using their phones. Very sad.

I agree Dot. As soon as I get on the ship.....cell phone goes into the safe. And I could care less what is going on in the world for the duration of the cruise.

Have read a little more about Aida Prima - there is NO MDR. All buffet eating venues with 3 specialty restaurants. The company is part of Costa therefore final top person to answer to is Carnival. Also exclusively marketed and targeting the German cruiser which is now the 2nd largest cursing country in the world. Only German spoken on board - 98% of passengers. The future of Aida ships......

plans for 2019 are a 6k pax ship.......wow!

Yes, it is all very interesting. For sure... it works!

Not sure about the all buffet in the dining rooms, but we have to think a lot of HAL passengers are quite happy eating in the Lido.

I was playing around all this.... to seeing what HAL CC'ers might think. I was right. Ship is Ugly, bad, no good etc etc. Very funny, last week some people have posted here this morning that people said that, "How can you say critical comments about KONINGSDAM if you have not even seen the ship!" Well, it goes to shows. ;)

Honestly, all of these ships are quite fine and none of them are bad. There is something for everyone. Everyone is allowed to make up their own... even if they have not even been on board. One thing for sure. None of them (ships) are 'perfect'!

Happy Cruise Days!

CARNIVAL VISTA will also have similar lanai cabins as well MSC SEASIDE. What is interesting about AIDA PRIMA is that her basic concept started with the Carnival Dream class and went from there. There are many similarities. Unfortunately she is over a year delayed from the shipyard and I doubt we will see any additional orders from MHI in Japan. Her cost to build was cheap and European shipyards couldn't match it, but there was a price to pay in the end. She will cruise year round from Germany so she is designed with many closed in areas on the upper decks that can be used in any weather.

该死

Gāisǐ !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In Chinese!!! ;-)

I think net the Chinese market is going to be the biggest next!!!!

Chinese love gambling ships and casino port destinations - this market has turned any old tugboat into a STAR cruise line money maker. http://www.starcruises.com/en/home.aspx
