As a non smoker, I love the changes. Smoke doesn't bother me, but I have a relative that is allergic to smoke, she gets stuffed up and her throat starts to close. I'm sorry that an addiction doesn't allow you to have a good time on a cruise. My mom smoked for 45 years and quit and is much healthier because of it. It's not like you can't smoke at all. Just have to go to different areas.

Where did I say I wasn't tipping? I took the prepay off and all pre-purchases. As we're all anonymous keyboard warriors, just have to go for the point I was hoping Carnival would see to get a passenger looking forward to a trip. If I would have known the new areas I'd get a balcony near them. I've been part of cc for at least eight years. I only sign on when a cruise is coming up.

 

Call off the anonymous Pom poms.

You clearly said you were removing all pre paid gratuities. It doesn't matter if you tip while on board, so you tip the waiter that brings you the drink....who do you think made that drink? So you tip the waiters that bring you the food...who do you think made you that food. There are a lot of people that are behind the scenes that benefit from those gratuities.

 

I understand that you were frustrated with the smoking aspect of it and the fact that it changed right before your sailing. But don't take away money from people that had nothing to do with it, that is what i feel isn't right. I apologize if i attacked your stance on the smoking...but do what's right and keep the gratuities for people that deserve them.

 

Also, i'm no more anonymous than you are. I have been on ONE Carnival cruise, I hardly bear the Carnival Pom Poms.

Of course, they are also the only ones not to return deposits. I know it's only on early saver, but other lines have that too. They are also the only ones that charge for changes as early savors. $50.00. They are worse than the airlines.John, I hope you read this. Just moved into our 7 day cabin, deck 11 spa. Still waiting to go to b2b meeting area.

 

Never again an inside with 4 people.

 

Did not have escargot, it was offered but not my thing.

 

Food has been very good so far. These chefs know how to do meats.

 

First dinner menu was the one with sweet and sour shrimp, roasted chicken, strawberry bisque, corn chowder, nutella tiramasu, those are what I remember.

We will go to the italian place that first night have you tried it for dinner?

We did cucina on Breeze and doing it tonight for dinner. The mdr menu is the same as Wednesday anyway.

I know this will draw some flames. But, I no longer care. I used to like practically everything on this cruise line. I am not happy with the smoking areas change. With a PVP I got a balcony on deck 11 that was close to the midship smoking area. This was just three months ago I booked, the change happened last month. That has vanished and I'd have to walk to the corner of the AFT. My other option, is taking the nearby elevator to the casino bar. I was practically on top of the windy ship and was okay with smoking out there, but now going indoors. I chose this room because of mobility problems and to be considerate being near a smoking area. Now that it has changed, I can only ride the elevator to the casino bar.

 

 

 

After I was informed by a cruiser, I asked to cancel. I could with an $1,100 penalty. So, that wasn't happening. In turn, dining reservations canceled, pre-paid tips canceled. I'm not happy. This cruise is sold out. You'd think Carnival would want someone that is excited about going on a cruise than someone in my position. They could sell it instantly.

 

 

 

You'd also think they'd have updated maps by now on Carnival's website. Nope, have smokers getting cabins in the old areas still with no official announcement. Heald did confirm the changes when asked on his page.

 

 

Talk about throwing the baby out with the bath water .... You just threw out the whole maternity ward! Maybe cruising is just not your style!!!!

Nice! I stayed on a Spa Balcony on the Breeze, LOVED IT! AS I'm sure you will.

11:07 was when we got back on board, so about 10 minutes later or so.

Alchemy is located next to the taste bar in the ocean plaza area of Deck 5

 

Portside, next to red frog pub. Directly forward of the Red Frog.

 

Thanks to the smoking on deck 5 lanai not there anymore, the Alchemy area is

 

Some Casino smell still is in the Starboard side of the ocean plaza but in general it was way better smell wise from the Breeze.
