Emtbsam asked the question I had.

Fascinating choice of lecturers for Silversea...what was topic of his lecture, even tho you missed it?

First one was the early years, folk and banjo, joining the Lamplighters as a teenager, then Simon and Garfunkel and Beatles influences.

The joys of Tapatalk when your phone gets activated and logs in without you realising!

Apologies for the "Oooomoooooloolllopppllppp" interruption!

i bet that is a pretty cool ride in. How close are you able to get to the city?

Not sure yet, we still have a bit to go. There is a large bridge coming up and can see the early morning sun shining off the skyscrapers in the distance

Fabulous trip out to the Mekong Delta today. Arranged with a private company at less than half of SS's tour cost.

Met our guide, photographer and driver just outside the pier gate and loaded into our air conditioned van.

We drove out of the city for about an hour before reaching real countryside, with rice paddies, family tombs in the middle of the paddies, maize and many types of fruit and vegetable. After 2 1/2 hours we get to where our private boat is moored, getting on and off was not easy, the river is tidal, and jetties uncommon.

We visited a craft area, where we watched rice pancakes being made, saw and tried popping rice ( just like rice crispies), drank rice wine, snake wine and tried various sweet fruits.

Visited part of the floating market for coconut and jack fruit, and then sailed to the Mekong Ecolodge for a traditional Vietnamese lunch.

Topped the return drive with a quick trip to the centre and the fashion market.

Extremely weird chef encounter in Le Champagne. Chef, how was your meal, guest, it's a shame the plates for the mains were not hot as requested. Chef's response, are you enjoying your wine?

Head waiter apologises and explains that chef is Mexican[emoji45]
