Room Service No Longer Free?

Recommended Posts

That is the only thing I can think of that would explain the inconsistent service ... Very inconsistent because like I said, other orders were perfect and the server was friendly.

Inconsistent is Royal consistently inconsistent Caribbean's middle name.

Crown Loft suites on the Oasis and Allure CL1 and CL2 have a bench like table that can be used for meals.

Our dinner one sailing came with table cloth salt and pepper bottles, butter dish and hot entres. And of course hot food.

It was a nice relaxing touch.

Safe travels.

Thanks for sharing.......Cruizer2

Appreciate your taking the time.

Nice pictures

You are welcome. All of those are from the Liberty of the Seas about one year ago. There are additional photographs of each cabin. Here is a link to the review with the photographs ...

We were in a Grand Suite in April on Rahapsody. The menus etc and all documentation said there was a $7.95 room service charge.

We were never told anything else so never ordered room service:( This also was not mentioned in the Suite News to passengers written by the Concierge. We are not big fans of room service but will check if we have a future GS sailing.

Oh well, as always communication helps!

From Royal Caribbean Website FAQ section on "Room Service":

"Q: Are gratuities included in the room service charge?

A: Gratuity is included in the delivery charge for room service. Additional gratuities are at the guest's discretion."

That certainly wasn't the case when we were on the Brilliance last month. We were charged both a $7.95 fee plus a separate gratuity.

Interesting, that's the first I've heard of a gratuity added on top of the $7.95.

Did you dispute it? I certainly would have. At the roll out of changes like this, some ships are bound to get it wrong. One just needs to come equipped with some knowledge on the matter - reason alone to slog through some of the CC threads.

Nice balcony John. Are you and Laura getting prepared for all the people stopping by May 21? Boat races? Please say hello to Laura for Al and I. Enjoy your travels.

I think we start cleaning on Friday.

Liquor run on Saturday. ;)

It was a nice balcony, almost as nice as the on our condo. ;p

Live from the Liberty! 7.95/per order. We are very upset about this - cutback! After 9:00 - there are few options for a late night snack- just the dryed out sandwiches from the Promenade Cafe. Room service was one of rhe nicest perks of cruising that set its part from land based vacations. It provided that touch of luxury and convenience for the ordinary cruiser.

Very very upset to see this service taken away. If you want it back write to RCi.

Good Luck, but think this change is here to stay...

Nothing was taken away and a very average meal was a touch of luxury?
