Dog on ship

Recommended Posts

Your dog sounds lovely but the quarantine laws etc for the UK are very strict so you would not have your dog if you came here for 2 weeks.

There is no rabies in UK because of the rules but Europe is a different matter and not worth risking your dogs health.

I'm Calling BS on this, there is NO risk to your pet, in most of Europe!

I prefer the rib eye. Didn't know Longhorn was in the UK. Went there last night. They carry my favorite beer, Newcastle Brown Ale. [emoji2]

There are longhorns in UK but different company.

I meant the Longhorns at Lake Buena vista,Kissimmee and international Drive while we have been coming to Orlando for the last 25 years.

I live about 10 miles from the Newcastle Brewery that brews Newcastle Brown Ale.

Well imagine we all grew up drinking milk yet some end up allergic to diary products. I know I have allergies, but never been tested thoroughly so to know exactly what I'm allergic to. Certain foods will make me break into hives or my lips will turn purple. I just know through trial and error. I was given prescription drugs once and my lips turned purple and chapped. I didnt even know that was the reaction from those pills until the doctor told me so.

People are more educated now because of modern medicine and research hence why people are more aware of allergies. If they get sick, they go see a doctor the doctor will tell them that they dont have a cold, but instead its symptoms of an allergy.

Remarkably, prior to 90 years ago no one had any idea that they were allergic to penicillin.

Yup and allergies change too. Some of the allergies I once had, now I'm more resistant to it. I asked a doctor about this, and he said that our body changes every 10 years so it could be possible we develop new allergies or become resistant to older allergies.

I'm highly allergic to cigarette smoke, what are my rights? I just avoid the smoking area. Even when I'm gambling in the casino, if someone sits down and smokes, I get up and leave. Its not their fault you're allowed to smoke in the casino.

Same here ;) But if we ever get a suite I can leave my stuff at home since I'm ok with L'Occitane products lol

Royal could cut down on this a bit by simply charging a fee - the posers are more likely to give up then.

I'm not here to judge. I totally understand that some people regard their pets as true family members. But cruise ships need to either get rid of this service animal policy or charge the same exact fare to a service animal that they would a true family member.

After all, if your pet is truly your family member, then you should have no issues with paying for it just like any other family member. Then, we don't have to worry about unscrupulous people cheating the system.

Cruising is not a right, it's not like school, a public building, restaurant or store.

More people need to call RCCL and make a stink about this.

Absolutely irrelevant. If you sell your products or services to the public then you are a public accommodation and are obligated to live up to the standards of society with regard to public accommodations.

Fair enough, but crack down on these shady people claiming their pets as "service animals".

As I mentioned before, besides being practically impossible, it is such a trivial concern as compared to other guest transgressions that are more severe in impact and more numerous in incidence.

Gluten. It's been longer than a decade but more importantly the maladies probably go back much further than the establishment of the linkage between them and their source. So let's say the change happened over a couple of generations. It may take a long time to find the cause of the change itself. Probably it will turn out to be the ascendancy of certain chemicals used in food or water, or a reflection of changes in our physical activity.

May people eat gluten free. Because of Hollywood celebrities say that they llost x number of pounds after they stopped eating gluten.

I believe the point is, instead, about people who are ALLERGIC to gluten, i.e., it causes a physical reaction in the moment.

My cousin is highly allergic to dog hair. What are his rights in regards to dogs in the eating areas, at the pool etc? As usual there is no black and white in these sorts of instances.

It's simple. Your cousin has no rights. The current laws favor the dog and any owner who wants to bring their dog for legitimate or illegitimate reasons. Your cousin will need to suffer more often because many people abuse the current laws. It's time to change these laws and make America great again.

It's not fair to charge someone who genuinely needs a service animal. And people who want to bring Fido just because will probably pay for them and not bat an eyelid. The damn things will probably end up getting C&A status! I can just imagine the threads that would bring!

Isn't it amazing in the last five years or so the significant increase in gluten intolerance and service animals? How did we survive before.

For my aunt, who was diagnosed with celiac disease about 60 years ago, it was tough. She was always sick because nobody had ever heard of gluten, nobody knew what it was, where it was found, what foods to avoid or how easy it is to cross contaminate. She's the healthiest she's ever been at the moment - the last 10 years have given her a huge range of foods she could have never eaten before. Life is so much easier for her now than it was 40 years ago.

My husband also has celiac disease - diagnosed when the awareness of it started to rise. Before that they thought he had IBS.

It annoys both my husband and aunt when people self diagnose a gluten intolerance ... because if they say they can't have gluten, but then turn around and say 'oh I'll have a piece of that cake, I'll just have a sore belly later' it makes others think that all people who avoid gluten can just go ahead eat it without anything too bad happening. Not so for many, who end up very ill if they consume it. It also leads to stinky attitudes and eye rolling, with people belittling what is a significant health disorder for those who truly have it.
