the_dylaness Posted June 25, 2017 #1 Share Posted June 25, 2017 Looking at the room plans and videos of the Haven 2 bedroom family villa, it seems like there is just too much furniture in the living room. We are traveling with our 2 children plus a nanny. I am not quite sure where everyone will sleep yet, but it is possible that someone may be sleeping in the living room. Is there anyway to ask the cabin steward to take out an extra side chair or coffee table?
Kfamilycruise Posted June 25, 2017 #2 Share Posted June 25, 2017 Our youngest slept in the living room and it was fine for him because he doesn't need privacy and he wakes up first. I don't know if they'd take furniture out. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
ColinIllinois Posted June 25, 2017 #3 Share Posted June 25, 2017 The worse that can happen is you ask and they say no. If you think the room is going to be too crowded have you thought about a Studio room for the babysitter?
dexddd Posted June 25, 2017 #4 Share Posted June 25, 2017 Which ship? I know from visiting them on the BA class the living room did seem on the small side.

AliceIn Posted June 25, 2017 #6 Share Posted June 25, 2017 The worse that can happen is you ask and they say no. If you think the room is going to be too crowded have you thought about a Studio room for the babysitter? If they did that, the nanny would not have access to the Haven or amenities there. I'd imagine the family would want the nanny close by to help out with the kids at the pool, meals, etc. The room will probably be fine with the furniture, with the exception, maybe, during the night when the bed is out. Since everybody is likely sleeping at that point anyway, it's probably a very small issue.
the_dylaness Posted June 25, 2017 Author #7 Share Posted June 25, 2017 Yes, we certainly want to keep the nanny close so she can help with wake up, bath time, bed time... would like to sleep past 630 or 7 for once :)

Is there anyway to ask the cabin steward to take out an extra side chair or coffee table? How old are your children? In our H4 we could have slept 2 small children in the fold out bed in bedroom #2 plus one in the drop down bunk above. Our teen daughter slept on the couch/bed in the living room and there was plenty of room. We did not feel as though the furniture got in the way. You can move the pieces around. Good luck planning! the_dylaness Posted June 25, 2017 Author #10 Share Posted June 25, 2017 Our kids will be 2.99999 :D and 6 at time of sailing. Don't trust the 2 year old in the upper bunk, not sure about 6 year old.

Would they both sleep together in the double bed? The couch in the living room is a single. Sent from my iPad using Forums
don't-use-real-name Posted June 26, 2017 #12 Share Posted June 26, 2017 When deploying the bedding for the evening - too much furniture ask the cabin attendant for alternate solutions ! Perhaps placing some of it out on a balcony - removing some of it to a crew storage area. Find out what can be done - make the best decision from what is available. P.S. solution to the wee ones perhaps not needing a bed - bring along a sleeping bag - camping at sea can be an awaking development for youngsters. Engage the cabin steward for exciting ideas of camping at sea !
Barb Nahoumi Posted June 26, 2017 #13 Share Posted June 26, 2017 The upper bunks do have guard rails on them. I think that the 6 year old could be ok with it. However the camping idea sounds like lots of fun.

cabincop Posted June 27, 2017 #15 Share Posted June 27, 2017 Also ask for egg crate covers for the sofa & 2nd bed. It will make it more comfortable. I'm sure your butler & room steward will help you. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
