Oh No RCI Made The List

Recommended Posts

Not too worried, Most of the violations are either documentation or things that the staff trains about, but a newbie forgets one time in front of an inspector. (At least looking at the 2 ships from RC on here)

The site is mostly clickbait, so to save those who want to know: Freedom and Anthem got 86, which is still a pass. Article doesn't even say what was wrong on Anthem.

Did hint with the nip at room service on Anthem. Looking at the inspection dated June 2016 a few issues were related to room service.

I knew about the Anthem prior to my sailing back in October. I was a little worried because of this, especially when they pretty much had a 98 4 months earlier and totally let the ball go. Yes, its a pass, but a barely passed score.

Fortunately, nothing went wrong and the cruise was fine.

Jan. 9, 2017.... In a resent U.S.P.H. inspection conducted on January 8 2017, Royal Caribbean cruise ship Liberty of the Seas earned perfect 100 points. The 160000 gross ton Liberty of the Seas was returning from a 6 Days Western Caribbean Cruise to its homeport Galveston, Texas when the unannounced inspection occur. CDC inspectors boarded the vessel and after several hours Liberty received a perfect score of 100 points with compliments to all crew for their amazing and hard work in regards to Public Health compliance. Nobody can imagine the crew member's proud smile on their face since yesterday when the Captain of the vessel announced on the PA system the ship's excellent scores. All on board the cruise ships have worked very hard, especially on a day before turnaround, and they need to be recognized accordingly. Congratulations to the crew onboard the Liberty of the Seas and thanks to a full 100 marks.

Precisely. If the score is a pass, what's the problem?

Makes me re-think ordering room service next time.

Exactly why I don't like web sites like that. They sensationalize... and make you click through umpteen pages just to make more money off you.

The report is over a year old. Most of the items were corrected on the spot.

I am amazed how some folks, perhaps loyal to royal, make excuses for them or downplay the low rating as if it were nothing or by siting one seemingly frivolous example. To some, passing is good enough. Not in my world.

High scores are something of which to be proud. A passing grade, especially when the government is giving out the grades, is nothing to brag about. This "everyone gets a trophy" culture is downright dangerous.

Achieving a high score is a challenge but seemingly easy for the majority of RCCL ships. Therefore, it proves that it is indeed possible. I suspect the root cause of most of these problems is lack of training and poor management at the individual ship level. Training is a never ending challenge given the high turnover and language barriers. Fortunately technology can solve this training problem quickly and easily.

I am a loyal customer of RCCL because they strive to achieve a score of 100. We laugh when we see other cruise lines achieve 85. Gross!

I can't wait to see new inspections pertaining to pet poo and urine flush out in the coming years.

They also supposedly call out employees who don't score a 10 on their customer surveys. I like perfection too, but humans sometimes do stuff, you know?:)

So where did you see that they strive for 100? If a business starts trumpeting stuff like that, they become an even bigger target for when things do go wrong.

As I said most of the items were corrected on the spot.
