sull87 Posted December 3, 2017 #1 Share Posted December 3, 2017 Booked an aft stateroom on Jewel and noticed windjammer is a deck above the room location. Just curious if other passengers have experienced staying in a stateroom on other ships directly below windjammer and if much noise was an issue early morning. We never, ever book any cabin that is below the pool deck or galley because of the noise all night long as they clean and prep. Hopefully your noise will be less if you are under the dining area and not the galley area. Have a wonderful cruise!!

Not unusual to hear rolling carts early in the morning (4-5am) .
Ourusualbeach Posted December 3, 2017 #4 Share Posted December 3, 2017 We've been in the aft cabins on Liberty directly under the WJ and never heard a sound.
papaflamingo Posted December 3, 2017 #5 Share Posted December 3, 2017 We have been below the Windjammer, pool deck, and Solarium. Yes, there is a chance for noise. We have found that in the mornings we could hear chairs being moved when under pool decks. When under the Solarium, we could hear the cart used to pick up dirty dishes as the wheels rolled over the tile. That was actually the worst. As for the Windjammer, it depends if you are under a carpet area or not, etc. If you can find pictures and there is carpeting, you probably won't hear too much. But, under any heavily traveled area where chairs and tables are located, you might hear something. I always try to book with a deck of cabins above and below. cruiseguy1016 Posted December 3, 2017 #6 Share Posted December 3, 2017 We've had cabins under the Windjammer in the past and we could hear chairs being pushed around but it was not loud enough to bother us. We had a cabin above Bolero's on Majesty once. The noise was very loud. The first night in bed DW and I said to each other "Oh, this isn't going to be good" But, we were so tired from all of the day's activities, we fell right asleep and never heard the noise. texmex.ferr Posted December 3, 2017 #7 Share Posted December 3, 2017 We were in cabin 1094 on Jewel recently, and we heard noise all day & night, rolling carts across the floor and other sounds as if things were being dropped. We thought we’d get used to it, or it would lessen during our trip, but if anything it got worse. A manager in the Windjammer said our cabin was directly below the prep area in the galley and they were doing extensive cleaning, but he would speak with the staff. 2 days later it was just the same, so we were moved to another cabin. The other cabin was a lot quieter, and our experience might not happen every trip (I would not expect extensive cleaning to happen every trip!!). We heard no one else having similar problems?!! Grandma Dazzles Posted December 3, 2017 #8 Share Posted December 3, 2017 Had a junior suite on the Serenade, don't remember the cabin number, more towards hump, but definitely heard rolling carts; wasn't that early to really bother me. I am a morning person and was up and around. Have had aft cabins on several ships (true aft across the back, or corner aft) and never noticed noise. sull87 Posted December 3, 2017 Author #9 Share Posted December 3, 2017 Thanks for the responses. Looks like our cabin is below where it says “Windjammer outdoor” on the deck plans. We love the aft balcony rooms, so are unsure if we should switch rooms!

39august Posted December 3, 2017 #11 Share Posted December 3, 2017 We've had aft cabins under the outdoor dining area on Jewel a couple of times and did not have noise issues. Maybe a chair scrape occasionally, but no rolling cart noises.
SRF Posted December 3, 2017 #12 Share Posted December 3, 2017 We were under the Windjammer outdoor seating on Grandeur in August. Some chair noise, but typically it stopped around 10 - 10:30. Some noise in the morning, but not enough to wake us up, but once awake, it was noticeable, but not too annoying. Bottom line, we booked our next two cruises in the same cabin. :D
Lazz Posted December 3, 2017 #13 Share Posted December 3, 2017 Not unusual to hear rolling carts early in the morning (4-5am) . I too heard what I liked to call "Rolling Thunder" every morning. However, my wife slept right through it.
