What's the rudest or strangest thing you've seen recently on a Royal Caribbean ship?

Recommended Posts

Personally i would prefer a high number of US and Canadian guest's and less European and Chinese passengers.

You do realise that quite a lot of the readers her are European, right?

Cultures and customs vary from country to country. What would be considered polite here would perhaps be considered impolite in other cultures.

I'm from Denmark. We see US tourists here. They are easily recognisable.

Now that I think about it, the rudest thing I saw on a Royal Caribbean ship was in a bathroom on Freedom. It was a sign that said, "Please use paper towel to open door" There was only air hand dryers in that bathroom!

Two years ago on Allure, we saw a man get arrested and handcuffed as we headed to the elevator after Muster Drill. Apparently he was on parole and didn't think that going on a cruise to the Caribbean would be a big deal. They quickly escorted him off the ship before we set sail.

We love Copenhagen,we have stayed at the Admiral hotel several times.

20 years ago the English chocolate company i worked for imported Anthon Berg chocolates and for 4 years running i won a sales incentive with 5 other salesman and

Anthon Berg looked after us and our wives like royalty in Copenhagen as the prize.

Its the Spanish,Italians and French who i was referring to.

I will narrow it down then : You do realise that there are also Spanish, Italian and French readers here ?

Can we please go back on topic now ?

After 50 years of traveling Europe i know who likes and does not like Brits.

Last time we were in Santorini waiting for the cable car a family of 20 Italians from our ship pushed their way to the front of the queue and when we tried to stop them several of the women around us got their hair pulled and one man got a cigarette burn on his shirt.

This was the rudist thing ever.

This is an international forum about cruises that nearly exclusively travel to international destinations, in international waters, with cruisers from all nations. America has nothing to do with it.

Goodnight it was just a comment for fun maybe you need a to go to your safe place and paint a pony .

We like Brits for the most part. Everyone has a few bad apples.

How’s that? I might fit in as I am blonde blue eyed. Make that was blonde. Now mostly bald and gray.

They speak louder than Danes (sometimes not realising everyone understands them), 50+ wear nice clothes - and trainers, generally they dress in a way that are recognisable. Checkered trousers, anyone? Probably not so much now, but it used to be a clear sign.

Bcause they speak loudly, it feels as if they take up all the space. We have small spaces here. In public it’s considered rude to speak so loud that everyone can follow your conversation. Teenagers do and grow out of it.

That's the spirit ! Much better than insulting each other !

Now that we all love each other again, can we please go back to the "What's the rudest or strangest thing you've seen recently on a Royal Caribbean ship" topic ?

Checkered trousers.... wow, been many years since those have been around.

We were on a excursion on our Freedom Presidents Cruise and had lunch with a really nice Danish lady. We shared many understandings and some differences. We enjoyed our conversations and made a new friend. It would be unacceptable to many here on CC to share some of these differences. Go back to my blonde blue eye comment.

How do you know it was not important? It would be naive and ignorant to automatically assume it was frivolous activity. My wife is an international tax attorney. She deals with clients who also live overseas. Bedtime for you, mid work day for them. Business never sleeps. Neither does international commerce.

For some, a vacation does not mean a cutoff from work.

Since we don’t know what this person was actually doing with said laptop. Presenting that as rude, is unfounded and in itself rude.

There's a time and place for work and the main dining room is NEITHER!!

So True!

So...? What's your point? That 25% (fictional, no source) of international passengers aren't enough to consider RC business as international?

As a Dutch man I'd say a group, where some grown men wear caps and short trousers. That's a dead giveaway.

We call them tourists or snowbirds here and yes, very easy to determine. Knee high shocks while walking on the beach. Socks with sandals as well. Lol

Men in Speedos is a giveaway.

One of our first cruises was on airtours sun cruises ship Sunbird which later became Thomson Destiny.

A family of 6 got off the ship in Barcelona a day before everyone else got off the ship in Palma and were laughing because they hadn't told the waiter.

That night the waiter was distraught because it was a 14 night cruise and they hadn't told him so he lost his tip money.

This was rude and very cruel.
