Coffee Card?

Recommended Posts

If you’re on a ship with a dedicated Starbucks kiosk (like Oasis class), then no. If it does not (have a Starbucks kiosk) then I believe that you can.

I think it’s decent value but I believe each shot counts as one punch on the card. So If he likes double shots then it’ll get used up quickly.

Okay I will just give him an allowance there instead,

does the drink package include starbucks? or that does

not either?

No drink package includes Starbucks on Oasis class ships.

OK, I'm confused about this coffee card. I purchased a 15 drink coffee card for my wife. When we boarded, there was a note indicating the the package was purchased. I thought this would be a separate card that gets punched and could be used by anyone. The first time we tried to order a coffee at the end of our meal, the server asked for our coffee card. I told him, there wasn't one, and a letter told us it was loaded on the Seapass card. He consulted with another member of the crew, then said he was unsure. We just asked him to charge it to the room and I'd sort it out with Guest Services.

I go to Guest Services later in the evening to inquire about this confusing process. The staff member there seemed confused as well, but then tells me, the cost of the coffees (up to 15) will be reversed at the end of the trip automatically. I thought that seemed strange, but thought it was just a tactic used by the cruise line to make it difficult to keep track of your consumption and possibly spend more. On the last day when the seapass account was closed, i saw that nothing was reversed. This is so frustrating, because now it became an inconvenience for me to go to Guest Services to have them fix it. To be honest, I think they would've refunded anything as long as it was within "reason", since they just want to clear the queue in the line to get people off the ship. They just asked me what was wrong, I tried to tell my story, but she just wanted to know what charges I wanted to reverse on the final statement. I pointed out the coffees, she went to the back, refund made, them printed me a new statement.

I'd like to know if anyone else experienced something like this.

Following as I an thinking of getting the card, it's $31 for 15 coffees in my cruise planner. Last time we used our Starbucks account which runs us $8-$9 per morning for the 2 of us, this is much cheaper! Does anyone have a copy of the coffee menu of what is included with the coffee card?

The standard coffee shop stuff. Lattes, mochas, etc.

Not to negate the comments above, but in our experience, they charged us one punch per drink, no matter what was in it (excluding alcohol, of course).

Can it be used at Starbucks?

My son likes to drink coffee but I am not going to purchase

the more expensive drink package for him,so I was

wondering if this were a good alternative.

Thank you,

If he wants the Starbucks brand, you can get him a Starbucks gift card and he can use that. The other coffee card has to be used at Cafe Promenade. I got the coffee card for my Grandson this past July and he was very happy with it.

Thank you for responding, it's definitely less expensive than going to SB every morning :)

Sounds like they didn’t know what they were talking about. Both times we have gotten the card, it was an actual card waiting for us in our cabin. Sorry you had this experience.

If you are good with normal coffee and whatever tea bags they provide, you don't need a card or package at all. Ice water, Coffee, Tea (iced or hot), lemonade, milk and juice at breakfast are included in your fare.

I am aware of that. What I wondered is if the coffee card was limited to drinks that actually contain coffee, or if it could be used for non-coffee-containing specialty drinks like chai lattes. I probably shouldn't have mentioned plain tea, I meant more specialty drinks that are found at Café Promenade and Latte-tudes.

Another question, is this similar to the beverage packages in that they cannot be shared? If I got one could my husband get a coffee as well?

SInce they are not unlimited, you can share with whoever you want.
