StillLooking4Adventure Posted April 3, 2018 #2 Share Posted April 3, 2018 Amazing that a big company like this has such a horrible IT department. Hopefully the "maintenance" will be a completely new web site that actually works. My TA said it took her 3 tries to make one simple change to my reservation before it took. Half the time I sign on I get an error message.

madcitymaven Posted April 3, 2018 #4 Share Posted April 3, 2018 Hopefully, they are actually creating a website with real and reliable functionality. However, their timing is not good by doing this during the day. What happens to people who are trying to print out their Express Pass, view excursions, etc. I'm surprised they didn't wait to take the website down until late at night. But that would presume that they understand how disruptions can affect customers' experiences.
Dunmore2 Posted April 3, 2018 #5 Share Posted April 3, 2018 I was on the app today too, lots of blank pages with the message “ We’re experiencing an issue. Please check back later.”
StillLooking4Adventure Posted April 3, 2018 #6 Share Posted April 3, 2018 It is also brilliant that it is down the same day I get an email announcing new deals that you can't see due to the web site being down.
Rare mom says Posted April 3, 2018 #7 Share Posted April 3, 2018 If their website was an actual building, it would have burned to the ground years ago, forcing a new build that actually functioned properly.

Luvcrusn Posted April 4, 2018 #9 Share Posted April 4, 2018 The website is like a child throwing a tantrum, stomping out of the room, then returning and saying "and another thing" on a never ending loop...that accomplishes little but frustration and anger!:eek:
ldubs Posted June 18, 2018 #10 Share Posted June 18, 2018 Holy Moley, the site is so bad my wife threw her hands up in disgust, logged out, and booked next year's Greek Isles cruise with RCI instead of Celebrity. Looks like we will fly into Rome instead of Venice. I happen to like Celebrity. It is very frustrating that it is so difficult to make what should be a simple booking. I suggest they process their web developer's payroll via the website. Maybe it would get fixed then.
leaveitallbehind Posted June 18, 2018 #11 Share Posted June 18, 2018 (edited) Nothing new with this. RCI and Celebrity do their web site maintenance and updates on the weekends. This is a frequent occurrence at that time. Been that way for years. Many similar CC threads as well. tallnthensome Posted June 18, 2018 #12 Share Posted June 18, 2018 If you want to see a real flop of a website, try MSC. It was apparently designed and ran by an 11 year old kid in India it would seem.
AUPilot14 Posted June 18, 2018 #13 Share Posted June 18, 2018 I'm new here, but glad to know I'm not the only one who finds the website horrible. I just did Check-In for my July cruise, and it crashed in the middle of typing in passport numbers.

Most people work Mon - Fri and might want to book during a weekend. Soooo, maybe not the best decision. Haha.

I've been in IT since 1979 and everywhere I've worked virtually all maintenance is done on weekends. The only exception might be emergency maintenance. In our current global economy no matter when you schedule maintenance you'll impact someone. There are ways to minimize the impact, of course, but it's difficult to eliminate. But in Celebrity's case, this goes well beyond a minor impact from site maintenance. From a customer perspective they might as well not even have a web site. My experience is the issues are a lot different than inconvenience from routine maintenance.
