Has anyone gotten a refund yet on the Oasis of the Seas sailing Jan 6-12th that was infected with the Norovirus? I have sent 2 emails to them and nothing....

On the other Oasis thread one cruiser just got his Yesterday, others not yet. So your not alone. I've had refunds take 4 days, others over 2 weeks. A heads up, lot of times refund comes in multiple amounts. If its $1000 you might get $666 one day and the next $334.

Also note that refunds actually credited on one day by Royal could take various days to actually show on your account depending on your financial institutions policies and procedures, and who did you pay. Did you pay a TA, then the TA paid Royal? Did you pay a TA then the TA passed your CC info to Royal? etc, etc.

Ours showed up yesterday. Paid TA but they put it through on our cc.  Got everything wexexpected. Didn't email hotel bill until late last week; got an email back acknowledging receipt.  Don't expect that for several weeks.

I just got off the phone with Royal Caribbean and the lady I spoke with said we are only getting 6 days refunded and still paying the taxes? Did you get the entire cruise fare back or???

We got one day already in OBC, plus two of the port fees in OBC.  Does that not sound familiar.

FWIW, we got a $492 credit posted to our CC in addition to the OBC.  Not sure if anymore is coming, but it was a free casino cruise.

As John said we all got 1 day back on the ship as OBC so the Royal agent is correct that you will only be getting 6 more days back.

Agree.  1 day and 2 sets of port charges back as obc. 6 days back to cc.  The only thing didn't get were fees for Labadee and insurance.   Can't complain.  Didn't get sick and had a pleasant trip.

No refund yet! We were told full refund within two weeks while on the ship. Over three weeks has passed- several phone calls, letters and now being told could take an additional two weeks.   RCCL really failed in fulfilling this promise.   Many passengers have only received partial refunds.  We are still waiting and the excuse is we were part of a group booking.

Not only was the cruise a horrible exoerience (passengers vomiting in the elevators) but dealing with Royal in trying to get the promised refund has been a nightmare!  We will NEVER cruise with Royal again!!!!

Keep in mind that literally EVERYONE on the ship is getting a refund, and that each one has to be processed manually, and that there were THOUSANDS of people on the ship.

It's not as simple as clicking a few buttons and it's all done.  People forget that not everything is automatic in this day and age, and that actual humans have to be involved in processes like these, which are well beyond the normal workflow for the company.

They either have to hire and train extra people to do the work (which takes time) or they have to have the existing employees taking care of literally thousands of refunds (which takes time).

You're getting way more than you are entitled to by law, so a little bit of patience and understanding might be in order.

Really!  Were you a passenger?  Did you get sick?  Were you promised a refund within two weeks that is now taking up to five?  Did you sail the ocean for five days without visiting the ports of call scheduled.  Please do not talk to me about patience!

Yes, it's quite obvious that you don't have any patience whatsoever, so this whole thread is pointless.

And no, I don't get sick on cruises because I know how to wash my hands.

You are right in that it is pointless for you to reply, since you were neither on the Oasis nor have you experienced what the passengers have in chasing the promised refunds.

Your attempted insults directed to me indicate the value your replies provide.
