When do the summer cruises to Bermuda start boarding at the Manhattan pier?

In July, on the Escape, it was about 11am 🕚. Very smooth embarkation and we had no priority. Went straight to O'Sheehans for lunch.

Priority boarding starts around 11:00 (Suites, Casino Guests, Ambassador, Platinum Plus, and Platinum). General boarding starts between 11:15 and 11:30.

O’Sheehan’s and the Buffet opens at 11:30 for lunch. The Main Dining Room and Margaritaville (extra few) open at noon.

Arrive ar 10:15 to avoid th crowds and board early.

Does it matter much with haven guest? I have a hard time believing I can get everyone there by 1015 I'm up early my SO and kids not so much.

If we get there at 1115 is it still a breeze or not?

It will be a breeze. Haven checkin is in the middle of the terminal (between the two general checkin). They will get you checked in and escorted onboard. No problem. The Haven restaurant opens at noon. Depending on the ship, margaritabills will be free for Haven guests for embarkation lunch (check with the concierge staff).

BirdTravels, have you used a separate Haven security line in NY?  There seems to be a debate on that.  Some people say in NY there is priority security and others say Haven priority doesn't start until check-in after security.

Gem has a 10 am arrival in NY  port --I  assume most  of the time  they arrive much earlier..

If  they do arrive  at  10 AM , obviously they are not loading new passsengers at  1130 AM--

Unless  someone  else has information

I see you mention that suite guests have priority boarding.  We are in a mini suite.  Does that qualify?

Thank you

Security is the same for everyone.  Once you get through security, go to the Haven sign and they’ll guide you to the Haven check in room.

And, if you’re in the Haven, check in times don’t matter as you’re escorted on the ship whenever they check you in and they have a group that’s going to the Haven.

 Very smooth process.

Mini suite = bigger bathroom, that’s pretty much it (on older ships the cabin is also a bit bigger than a balcony).

Excellent topic. My family will be on the April 2020 out of Manhattan Bermuda Cruise on the Encore. We all have Mid-Ship Balcony Suites. What is the usual boarding time for this? I know this is a long ways out but just need to make sure everyone is there at an appropriate time.

Mid-ship Balcony Suites? Balconies and Suites are two different cabin categories.

If your stateroom category starts with B or M  (like BA, BB, MA, MB, etc.), then those are standard balconies or mini-suites, and those don't have the priority privileges unless you are a Platinum or higher Latitudes member. You will board according to your group number -- the earlier you arrive, the lower your group number.

In the past out of NYC, we've gotten to the pier around 10:00 to 10:30, and we've been onboard around 11:30 or noon.

If your stateroom category starts with S or H, those are suites, and you'll have priority boarding. You'll board shortly after 11.

I wouldn't show up to the pier earlier than 10 AM.

Thank you for this info. I think all of our rooms are BA. I think between 10:00am and 10:30 in reasonable. And how long usually is the wait to get into the room itself? Just curious.

We've usually been able to get into our rooms by around 1:30 PM -- sometimes earlier. Our standard procedure is to go to the MDR and get lunch, and usually during lunchtime (or shortly after) they announce that the rooms are ready. It's a super busy day for the crew, turning everything over, but they do a great job.

That sounds great. Someone else suggested the MDR versus the buffet because from what I have read everyone heads to the buffet first. We want to order some extras for the room(Strawberries, Birthday Decorations, Shrimp, ETC) Are these waiting for us or do we have to call once we are in the room? I am ordering these things prior to the cruise departure online like within the next two weeks.

We've ordered online and never had an issue, weeks, months ahead and were waiting (decorated) before we ever got to the room.  However, you can pick a day for something special if you want it on the occasion day.
