Hotel for one night before cruise

Are you driving or flying?  We usually stay out by the airport as we drive down from North Florida and there are plenty of hotels in the area.  But, if you want to be closer to the port (and spend more), there are plenty of other options. There are better forums here (Florida Departures) where you can get more opinions if you can provide some further information.

We usually stay at the Homewood Suites or the Hampton Blue Lagoon.  The Embassy near the airport charges $30 for parking which is too much for me.  The ride to the port is about 20 minutes typically.

We stayed at the Homewood Suites Airport West for our July cruise. We parked for the week for free. Since it was weekday we enjoyed a light dinner. We also got transport to the POM. This was using their cruise rates. We were pleased. The only extra charge was the Lyft charge back to the hotel after the cruise. We were pleased with the entire package.

There is an Embassy Suites at the airport.  Stayed there many times on business.
