It’s time to go to dinner now. As I mentioned earlier, we will be at the same table and have the same wait staff that we had the previous cruise. Here are tonight’s menus…..

IMG_1708-XL.jpg

IMG_1709-XL.jpg

IMG_1710-XL.jpg

Patti started with the roasted tomato soup and a Caesar salad…..

IMG_1712-XL.jpg

IMG_1714-XL.jpg

I started with a shrimp cocktail and the poutine duck…..

IMG_1713-XL.jpg

For her main Patti had the flat iron steak with a baked potato, while I enjoyed the seared beef brisket…..

IMG_1715-XL.jpg

IMG_1716-XL.jpg

Like clockwork Yoki appears at our table, and that can mean only one thing. It’s shot time!

Here is the Entertainment Schedule for the week…..

IMG_1725-XL.jpg

Our plan was to go to the 8:30 pm comedy show. We got there at 8:10, and it was already SRO. We decided to skip it and head to the Red Frog Pub for a drink and to watch the instrumental grooves with the Hip Stars…..

IMG_1726-XL.jpg

IMG_1728-XL.jpg

We then went to the Liquid Lounge to watch the Welcome Aboard Show hosted by Mikey, which was a hoot. We had no trouble finding seats on the floor…..

IMG_1731-XL.jpg

IMG_1733-XL.jpg

IMG_1738-XL.jpg

IMG_1739-XL.jpg

Afterwards, we decided to call it a night. This cruise was off to a great start!

Coming up next:  Back out at sea again!

I've just been reading to this point, but I wanted to tell you that I'm really enjoying your review.  The styles and interests shown on the various reviews on this forum are amazing, and in so many ways, reading the diversity makes it so much more complete!

I wish my husband enjoyed cruising as much as you two.  Though I think I could possibly talk him into a B2B on a one way (and then the other way) Mediterranean cruise for our 20 year anniversary.  I just hope I have as many casino offers then as I do right now!

I've never been on a Carnival cruise.  We've always been loyal to Royal.  This review has made me think that a Carnival Sunrise cruise may be on the horizon for us.    The ship looks beautiful and looks like a great time!  I can't wait for the NE/Canada leg of this review.

That is a strange looking poutine to me 🤔I thought poutine was fries, gravy, and cheese curds.  I'm guessing the potatoes are buried underneath, but it looks like cottage cheese and salad with some duck.  I hope it was tasty though.

I have a question about the shots, which I remember being asked but not clearly answered on another thread.  Do you pay the full price for the shot & glass (I thought souvenir glasses weren't covered by Cheers) or are you able to take the shot at just shot price (or included in Cheers) and return the glass at no charge for it?  The glasses are cute - I have two at home holding some decorative glass beads - but 2 per night on a cruise would both get pricy for me and I wouldn't have the room to display them 😉

I loved Mikey's suits 😄 This picture is great that he looks so serious in that outfit.  He was such a great CD, I hope to sail with him again some day.

I didn't know what to expect when I ordered the duck. I enjoyed it though.

The shots were $10 each and you keep the shot glass which came in half a dozen different colors. We collected them all. We didn't have Cheers so I don't know if they were included in the program.

We enjoyed Mikey as well. 😎

Oh yeah! We had a pretty good collection.Yoki provided us with boxes to bring them home.😎

The muster drill began at 3:30 pm, and once again was fairly painless. Yes, you do have to attend the muster drill even if you are on a back to back.

We were pleasantly surprised that when we did our B2B on QM2 in July we only had to go to the drill on the first leg. They said we were welcome to go again on the second leg if we wanted.😀

You have great photos of sailaway. All the sailings we've done from NYC and I never get tired of it.

That was nice that you didn't have to go twice to the muster drill. NYC has the best sail away hands down. Of course I may be a bit biased since it's our homeport.😀

Sorry for any confusion.  I think it is standard to keep the glasses (we did too), I just saw a post recently where people were asking about an option to pay less for the shots or having it covered by Cheers with not keeping the glass.

I'm glad you enjoyed the duck.  It didn't look bad, just not what I expected 🙂

Thank you for your feedback on the glasses.  I'm glad you have a use for yours, the boxes were a nice touch.  I assumed you had Cheers with as often as I see a drink in your pictures.  We don't get Cheers either, but I'm pretty sure the shots would not be included due to the souvenir glass exclusion.

Thanks for reading! Though Patti's pictures are good, there's nothing like seeing it live. You are in for a treat. Enjoy!😀

Patti is not a big drinker so Cheers doesn't work for us. I was shocked when Patti started doing the shots! 😁

My husband and son will be happy that they can keep them again! They got all of the colors last time...and the glasses are different this time!

We've done only one B2B and really enjoyed ourselves. Maybe again someday!

You should do more B2B's. Your DH could reach Diamond quicker that way! :classic_biggrin:

Day # 8 – 9/23/19  -  First Sea Day of the Cruise.

We got up at 7 am to a beautiful sunny day. Temperatures are expected to reach 77 degrees today, which is not bad for late September. Here are today’s Fun Times…..

IMG_1740.1-XL.jpg

IMG_1740.2-XL.jpg

IMG_1740.3-XL.jpg

We went to the Morning Show where today Tyler, Mikey, and Pablo were holding court…..

IMG_1742-XL.jpg

Shopping expert Raeden soon joined them promoting this week’s cruise wear sale…..

Our next stop was the Cruise Critic Meet & Mingle which was being held at Piano Bar 88…..

IMG_1756-XL.jpg

IMG_1757-XL.jpg

Snacks, coffee, tea, and juice were provided…..

IMG_1759-XL.jpg

IMG_1760-XL.jpg

IMG_1761-XL.jpg

About half of those who signed up attended, which is better than usual. No one from Carnival stopped by, but that was okay since this group really engaged with one another. We sat or stood in a circle and everybody introduced themselves, and a lively session of sharing experiences occurred. It was really awesome. In addition we had some special guests with us. Doug Parker from Cruise Radio was there, along with Richard Simms, who is a frequent contributor to Cruise Radio and is also the executive editor of Soaps in Depth Magazine. Ashley, who works for Cruise Critic, but I forget in what capacity, was also there with us. Here is part of the group during our lively discussions…..

IMG_1763-XL.jpg

We stayed at the Meet & Mingle until we were basically thrown out because another group had booked the space. Patti took this group shot, which was missing a few people that had to leave early…..

IMG_1765-XL.jpg

After leaving the Meet & Mingle I went up to the Red Fog Rum Bar to visit my buds, while Patti walked around a little.  The turnout for Seuss a Palooza was pretty light as there weren’t many children aboard the ship this week…..
