ilovetotravel1977 Posted October 22, 2019 #29 Share Posted October 22, 2019 @Sea Dog How did you like the SafeGo unit? Did you use the key or the code lock? I've been on the fence about buying one as it will cost me close to $90-$100 with shipping and duty to Canada...

taymorel1 Posted October 22, 2019 #35 Share Posted October 22, 2019 Excited for your trip report. My husband is a fan of bourbon and we will be on Harmony next month, so really interested to hear about any good bourbon you had on the ship.
Rare Sea Dog Posted October 23, 2019 Author #36 Share Posted October 23, 2019 "We Choose to go to the Moon" - President John F. Kennedy The Kennedy Space Center is a place were every American should go and visit. To see the history and achievement of mankind in the race for space and landing the first person on the moon was breath taking and impressive in every aspect. We did a Uber from the hotel to KSC Visitors Center $34.88 including tip which took is 23 minutes for 16 miles. After getting our tickets we proceeded through the gate and saw the Rocket Garden where we walked among the giants of NASA’s Mercury, Gemini and Apollo programs. We got a tip to go early which we did at 9am and go directly to the bus tour before it gets crowed and work your back. We seemed to get in line before the busses even came so we had a bit of a wait. The tour gave us access to some of the restricted areas. We saw the Vehicle Assembly Building which we could not go in like I did when I was a kid .
Rare Sea Dog Posted October 23, 2019 Author #37 Share Posted October 23, 2019 "...The Eagle has Landed" - Neil Armstrong We then went to the Apollo/Saturn V Center with a full Saturn V complete with capsule laying lengthwise in the building WOW! We went to several presentations including being in a exact replica of the Apollo 8 Firing Room where we watched history unfold as the first crewed Saturn V missions blasted off into space. This was favorite part because I lived it. After that was the Lunar Theater where we relived the final few minutes leading up to the first words ever spoken from the surface of the moon, “…the Eagle has landed.” Apollo 14 Crew Capsule From there we headed to the massive Space Shuttle Atlantis Exhibit where we got a close up view of Atlantis. Isn't she a beauty! Here are some other pictures of our wonderful day at KSC. And finally for no apparent reason a bird on top of the world. Now it's time to blast off to happy hour!
Rare Sea Dog Posted October 23, 2019 Author #38 Share Posted October 23, 2019 (edited) NOW THIS IS WHAT I CALL HAPPY HOUR Right next to the terminal where we will board harmony are two great restaurants Fishlips and Grills. I choose Grills Seafood Deck and Tiki Bar mainly due recommendations from @John&LaLa and others. This place was incredible. Our view So while we had happy hour cocktails we were treated to not one but three sailaways. Norwegian Sun Carnival Breeze with a nice blast from the horn for us More cocktails in between, Grills Gone Bananas and Dragon's Point Punch And finally last to leave port was Disney's Fantasia And finally let's eat. Ever tried Shark Kabobs? They were amazing!!!!! Some Seafood Fettuccine to clog the artery's (not a bad way to go in my opinion.) After dinner we decided to walk next door to Terminal 1 and check out where we will arrive in the morning. And here is Harmony's parking spot. In less than 24 hours we will be there. Time for bed I don’t think I will sleep tonight. Edited October 23, 2019 by Sea Dog
MrFunInTheSun Posted October 23, 2019 #39 Share Posted October 23, 2019 Thanks for bringing us along. Oh my goodness those tuna tacos look amazing. Very envious of your Shark Kabobs at Grills. Those are the best. I was so sad they were not available the day we were there last month.

I will post a bunch of photos with my newly purchased iPhone11 Pro Max to give you a idea of what kind of pics it takes. This review will start pre cruise with preps and two nights in Port Canaveral. I will then post at least once a day on our life on board, ports of call, food, whiskey and our take on the key. I hope you will have fun and enjoy the ride and see some great photos and videos from my new iPhone 11 ProMax. ALL ABOARD!! Amazing review so far Greg! I have seen several of your posts prior to your cruise and happy to follow along! The housekeeping rules were a great add 😉 I have the iPhone X which was a huge purchase, and I was quite happy with it, but I love photography and not sure I want to lug my heavy DSLR with me. I was holding out for the iPhone 12, but the 11 Pro Max looks amazing. Your photos are very crisp and clear. I'll be interested to see the night time shots, which is where the X tends to fall behind. Thanks in advance for taking the time to share your review and pics!

KansCocoa Posted October 23, 2019 #47 Share Posted October 23, 2019 Great review - from a fellow Lee’s Summitian...is that a word?? Actually, we’re in Lake Winnebago - so close enough! And KMBC is my favorite - I grew up with Larry Moore doing the news, and now it’s good old Kris Ketz...

KansCocoa Posted October 23, 2019 #49 Share Posted October 23, 2019 I do Public Affairs for the Red Cross, and you all have been great working with us over the years...I’ve been in your studio (the old one - not the “new” one yet!) doing numerous interviews over the years...so glad to help pay for the cruises!! I haven’t cruised yet on the Harmony, so I’m reading as many reviews as I can - to see if I will like it. I love the Allure - so it has to be close, right??!! 🙂
