Martini Flight Change?

On our Equinox cruise in Aug 2018 we decided to have some fun after dinner and ordered a martini flight.  We enjoyed the bartender show and the 7 mini martinis.  We took lots of pics.  I was just looking at drink packages for our next cruise and noticed the pics of the martini flight looked different.  There are only 6 now.  This is pointed out in the fine print as well.  The new Celebrity ad is missing my favorite blue martini.  Can anyone who has sailed recently comment on the number of drinks currently in the martini flight?

It has been a while since I ordered one, but historically it was always six mini-martinis. If you have a favorite, most bartenders would likely be willing to swap it in upon request.

We've been getting them for 9 or 10 years and seems like there was always 6. Wife says 6 also for years.

Don’t know what the menu said but in Sept  on Eclipse it was 8.

They will do a special demonstration show around 7 where they will make 10 or as many as the BT can handle.  After they pass them out for free.  

 

the flights have always been 6 and you can normally request what you want excluding the dessert martinis.

Our experience is similar to Michel.  The “show” pours are anywhere from 7-50 ( yes we saw a pour of 50).  The martini flights that you pay for were $26 last time I checked.

We have been visiting the Martini bar since Maiden voyage of the Solstice ship and it has always been 6. They will do anything else to make you happy and perform. They use to serve them on a paper with the names of the 6 but have stopped that. There were six named martinis.

I usually drink wine.  If I drank all those martinis, I would probably have to take a nap after.

People, people, people. The show is awesome. Go for it and let someone else order and drink the flights. Order yourself an actual martini. The reason that you should avoid the flights is this: martinis are made to be drunk when they are ICE cold. Thus, the ice bar that keeps them cold when you sit at it. When you order a flight, the first one you drink is at the correct temperature. The second might be close depending on how fast you drink the first one. But from the third on through either the six or seventh (depending on how generous your bartender/waiter is) is usually at best, lukewarm. 

 

So many people over the years have done the flights and then said, "I don't really like martinis." It's because they taste terrible when warm. Do yourself a huge favor and watch the show and then order a single one to try. Or, if you have to get the flight, try a sip of each one as soon as you get it, then order the one you like best as a single martini.
