Question about ship time vs San Juan time

We will be in San Juan January 9th on the Allure from 7 am - 1 pm ship time. We want to do a 2 hour excursion independent that starts at 10:30 and ends at 12:30 San Juan time, right next to the ship.  Does the time stay the same for ship  & island?

Kinda depends on the captain.

Are sailing out of an east coast port?  If so you can be an hour behind.  Confirm with the tour company that they are on island time and once you know what the ship is doing make any adjustments you need to.  Keep your watch on ship time so you know when you must be back on time.

Latest back onboard time will be 12:30pm if sail away is 1pm!!  Way too close for my comfort level 😳😳

Ship time will be one hour behind San Juan time.  So if it is from 10:30-12:30 San Juan time, your tour will be from 9:30-11:30 Ship Time. 
Allure Cruise Compass November 3,2019 cruise had us stay on Ship Time not Island Time.

Sorry, but that is not always the case.  It is up to the captain.  And can change from cruise to cruise, even on the same ship, and with the same captain.

I agree with @SRF 0n 11 /21/19 (HR) & 12/2/19 (SR) Stayed on ships time on HR, changed clocks on SR.

Agree...we experienced this recently on the Freedom out of San Juan...Captain's Choice.

Sounds like I better wait until we are there and try to book last minute. Thank you for your answers

The OP is sailing on Allure. The ship sails out of Florida.

The folks that told you it is variable and unpredictable are quite right. Good decision on your part.

Last week on the Oasis, the Oasis stayed on ships time.  The Anthem that was there the same day, was on San Juan time.  I know that because we met up with friends on the Anthem.  They called us asking where we were when we did not show up at our meeting time.
