The kitchen remodel is finally completed! We booked the project in January. The backsplash was installed last week. Bill installed the new switches and undercabinet lights this weekend.

Very nice. What a joy to have a new kitchen without having to pack up your house and move!

In Kentucky, it's y'all.  Unless the waitress is talking to more than one person, in which case it's the plural version...all y'all.

Y'all is universal below Mason Dixon

Yea, but living through a big remodel isn't much fun.

Except we are selling and moving. :classic_biggrin: This was just project one. Next up are structural repairs, new flooring and painting. Fortunately, the other house is already updated, and doesn't need a lot of work.

Our biggest challenge was replacing entire condo with new tile. 1800 sqft.

Laura spent about 3 weeks at sea at one point, and Bell lived with neighbors. But it was done for Christmas 😁

I like it.  The contrast in colors really looks good.   The lights under the cabinets really adds to it.  I'm sure you will enjoy it.

Looks great!   Bill did a great job with backsplash.  Was it easy for him to remove the old laminate without messing up the wallboard or sheetrock behind it?

Tonight’s cocktail experiment was a Vieux Carre. This cocktail is known as both Vieux Carre and it's translated
name Old Square. In the original recipe dates back to 1937,
from the Old Quarter, New Orleans

1 ounce rye whiskey
1 ounce cognac
1 ounce  sweet vermouth
1/2 ounce Benedictine liqueur (I like Benedictine, so I add 1
OZ)
2 dashes Angostura bitters
2 dashes Peychaud's bitters
1 orange peel, for flaming and garnish
Fill an 8- to 10-ounce old-fashioned, or rocks, glass. with ice.
Add the rye, cognac, vermouth, Benedictine and both bitters,
and stir to mix well. Flame the orange rind and rim the glass
before adding as garnish.

it’s sweet but extremely good. Give it a try.

Cheers!

It’s weird how it affects dogs differently. My neighbors dogs get freaked out while Oliver will sit there calmly and watch the fireworks.
While my old dog would always run and hide in the bathtub whenever he heard a loud sound. Thunder, fireworks, something loud on tv.  Straight shot to the bathtub to hide.
