It was a seacation with no ports.

We have visited most of the Northern Europe and Mediterranean ports so staying on the ship for 7 days was a new experience for us and incredibly relaxing.

The ship was fantastic as was the weather.

We sailed through the Bay of Biscay and back up the Northern Spain and West coast of France and the captain kept us in High pressure areas at all times so the sea was very calm and it was sunny every day.

The average ship speed was 9 knots.

Graham.

Looked heavenly!!  Happy you had the chance to cruise!  🙂

Isn’t there a love bug season by you?  Or maybe it’s June bugs. Whatever it is that covers the front of your car.

Yup..."not so loveable bugs" I call the car paint killers...AKA Love Bugs.  They are coming out again...they are coming on again.  2-3 weeks twice a year (spring and fall).  Uggh....  😣

We are on Allure. 3 hour drive to port. Much better than flying. Check in time was 1:00. We could go an hour early at noon since we’re in a suite. Dropped luggage at 11:25. On the ship at 11:50. No real lines to speak of, just about a 5 minute wait in a short queue that acts as a buffer in front of the health check area so they don’t get too many people there.

Almost no one on the RP or the Boardwalk

Incogmeato. I do like that defination. I've never had a veggie burger. I'm a Carnivore. But I do like veggies so I guess I'm a Omnivore. 😉

Day 2 continues.

This picture is from the Conference Room on Deck 13, way in the back of the ship.  You can get lost trying to find this place.  Coincidentally, there is a University At Sea Medical Conference going on this week here on this cruise. The conference portion is on sea days.  Topic is Family Medicine and some women’s health.  DH is into women’s health (Ob/Gyn Doc) but he didn’t sign up for the conference.  He didn’t want to spend precious sea days sitting in a conference room.  He’d rather be flow riding.

Tonight is Formal Night.  Surprisingly, a lot of people dressed up for it.

Dinner tonight:  Fried Calamari, Escargot, Beef Tenderloin, Seafood Linguine, Duck a L’orange, Grand Marnier Soufflé.

There is no visible sunset tonight due to very cloudy sky.

Tonight’s Headliner Showtime starring The LAS VEGAS TENORS.  Great show!

Then it’s time to go to Two70 for the 70’s Disco Inferno Dance Party.  It’s cheesy but always fun.

In the Schooner Bar there is live piano music A Tribute to Elvis Presley with Kelly Goodrich.

We are on our way up to Juneau, Alaska and because we are in open sea, there is a lot of rocking of the ship.  Barf bags are on every stairway just in case.  Better to turn in for the night.

We love the Las Vegas Tenors, saw them twice on Anthem.

OK...no travel pictures for the next 2 weeks.  Sigh....

Fridge/freezer packed to the gills, clothes refreshed, dry goods in, Meds packed, Plenty of wine!...kayaks loaded on the Jeep, hooked up, fueled up...and hit the road yesterday at noon.  Heading out to our first state park for the six week tour of the Florida Panhandle.  Got up on the highway...and bus started to sputter.  She refused to go anything over 45 MPH.  Great...just great.  And we had it serviced before we left for Maine.  Worked fine at low speed...but no high speed...and even started losing it at lesser speeds.

Made it to the next exit, circled around on the side streets, limped back home.  Our excellent RV service located inside our community is closed on the weekends.  Can't even make an appointment until tomorrow.  Then...no idea how long until we can get it in...or how long the repairs.

Depressing to then unload everything back out this morning.  Have cancelled the first two weeks of our six week tour...hoping we may salvage at least a couple of reservations we have for later.  Not sure...but important thing...made it home, and not sitting on the side of the highway.

This had pretty much nailed our decision to sell the land yacht this winter.  Managed to go drown our sorrows at favorite local sushi restaurant today for lunch.  Sigh....Was good sushi though!

Did you go anywhere else in the area of interest ?

We went all over the Space Center, it was long ago so can’t remember everything.  My kids were young.  Seeing moon rocks,  space capsules and suits was something.  My brother lives  near Houston so we drove all over looking at stuff.  Astro-World was a big hit.

Bummer. Agree with not being towed or stranded. Stay safe and enjoy. 🍷
