Early Saver rule question

Hi there! I am booking a sailing for next April. My husband and I both have different promotions under our VIFP numbers. If I book using his promotion, which is an early saver VIFP promo and later I receive a better promotion under only my VIFP promotions, will they allow me to change to that pricing to that since both of our numbers are attached to the booking?

Any guidance would be appreciated.

No they wont automatically drop the price. You should be able to shop the deals until you finish paying off the booking by calling customer service though.

I've changed my casino promotions to better ones after by booking has been paid off by upgrading my room several times in the past.

I know it's not automatic, my question is does it matter that the early saver promo rate booked was under my husband's VIFP but the new one is under mine?

What could matter is changing from early saver to a casino rate. I'm not sure sure, but seems like if you give up ES rate you lose price protection after final payment ?

This ES promotion comes with $100 so dont forget that is part of the rate and would go away if you change to another rate. I've see a lot of boo boo hooing when people lost promotional obc.

If you've both cruised the same amount or never cruised before you'll get the same deals unless its casino related.

That's the problem. I have cruised more than he has and I get casino offers often but right at this moment he has a better early saver offer than I do. It's strange. If I book us under that rate which is only under his number, can I change to a lower rate that I may receive under my VIFP later?

That's not true. My wife & I have the same number of days at sea. All the same cruises together. There's been at least one time when she got a (cheaper) rate available to her that wasn't available to me. Nothing to do with casino rates. We don't know why.

Do you mean switch both of you to a cheaper rate that might appear under your VIFP later? I'm guessing you could, but I think you'd have to cancel the first booking first, and since it's an Early Saver rate, you'd probably have to pay the $50/person cancellation fee. Having never done it myself, that's just my guess.

i also noticed the same thing too before. to get the cheaper rate i was told that person with the vifp discount needs to be guest 1 on the booking

You can do it. If you find a cheaper rate on his number (and he's crushing w you) just call in and they will price adjust. I've done to several times with ES. My husband has less days then me and he usually gets better deals.

I stopped reading everyone's answers when it seemed that they got seriously far from your original question, so sorry if someone else answered this.  The answer is yes.  They will provide a price drop for a promotion appearing under anyone's VIFP number that is booked into that room.  On our cruise last year I was able to obtain a price drop using a promotion appearing under DH's VIFP number that did not appear under mine, even though the cruise was booked with me as the primary cruiser.

Thank you so much!  That's exactly the type of clarification I needed!  It's just too hard to reach them on the phone right now so personal experience with the situation is invaluable!!!!
